I wanted to look around and see if this was discussed but I just couldn't figure out how to search for it or what to type.
Did our minis survive into the future? I mean probably not mine but some people make some really good minis and the metal ones are still around and can probably withstand time better than at least the resin models.
Did, or will any of our minis survive into the future to be discovered by the very armies we portray? I like to think that one day some Warboss finds his way into a GW on Terra and is confused at finding a little version of himself or Grey Knights and Librarians get weird flashes of whats about to happen or battles but they are posed in specific ways and moved around on bases.
It would also be sad to think that none of our models or the game it's self didn't stand the test of time.

There are some mentions of minis IIRC in one or two novels....

I AM A MARINE PLAYER
"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos
"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

One of the Horus Heresy Novels, I wanna say Angel Exterminatus basicly has the Iron Warriors all playing a minitures game. it was amusing in a ".. they're playing 40k LOL" manner.

Most notable to me is the mention of a mechanist/tinkerer in th novel Titanicus, who assembled and paints scale models of the Titan Legions that came to protect the world to sell.

I do suspect wargaming among the civilian market likely doesn't exist, or if it does is horriably horriably lopsided so that the "glorious space marines crush the perfidious xenos in every encounter! the challange is not for the xenos to win, but how many bodies your glorious astartes army can rack up before the time limit! Please note that under performance will be delt with ahrshly.. have fun citizen"

Humans have been making miniature versions of random stuff for millenia, whether it's for decoration, playing or religion. I think it would be more weird if there wasn't someone somewhere in the Imperium making miniature space marines.
Now, could some minis from our millenium actually survive until the 41st millenium? It's technically possible: archeologists have found items made by cavemen around 40 000 years ago after all. A metal mini, if it was kept in a place where it wouldn't be damaged by the elements, could survive that long. They would probably be extremely rare, though.

Titanicus has a plot thread about a toy maker who produces miniature titans.
Given the amount of historic material which seems to survive into 40K (Lords of Mars features the ships wheel from the Victory, for example), toy soldiers surviving wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility.

it's worth noting that Malcador apparently went out of his way to preserve stuff like that

I believe he was part of a whole order of people who did that. Somewhat ironic considering he served a man whose primary hobby was burning things.

So you're suggesting that in 40k the IH erratta was never published?

nah, a human from 40k would take one look at the Iron Hands rules pre-errata and be all "What heresy is this?! they're too weak! I mean why do xenos weapons even have a strength characterisitic?! we all know their weapons are unable to lay low the heroic defenders of humanity!"
