Hey guys, I’m trying to get back in to Blood Angels after a while of not playing them. I dusted off the ol’ flying brick yesterday and i don’t think I’ve lost so badly since when I thought playing an only scouts army was a good idea.
I’ve created the below list which I’m hoping will do a bit better. The idea is a spend 1 cp for death visions 2 for forlorn fury 2 on wings of fire and 2 for 3D charges on turn 1 and 2. The warsuits are to clear out chaff for the deep striking units. I don’t know if artisan of eat is the best choice for the ancient but I feel nothing else is that great. The dc have bolters I’m just lazy. Lib dreads both have wings and quickening. I’m predicting smash captains are going to get 40 point hammers soon so I’ve left points for the expected points increase. Would it be better to run eliminators instead if the warsuits?

hmmmmm this seems interesting. bit of a mix feel tbh
I play a BA player a lot, my only critique would be make sure you have a way to get in their face quickly. The guard and company can be very squishy at times.
But this is down to play style. bare in mind you can't use same psychic power twice, so both dreads can't use wings same time.
but in saying that if you manage to hammer and anvil tactic the player successfully i think they'd have a hard time stopping you, i think the issue you may have is getting to your opponent.

I like the look of this, if you get the first turn you will murder most things with the deathcompany and warsuits charging in. The warsuits should be able to clear a fair amount of screens to make a hole.
Deathcompany will shred hordes and thunderhammers will mulch vehicles :-)
Going second it will be a bit more problematic, they will have to deal with the warsuits which will protect the rest of your force but that extra turn of firepower hitting you and having to wait for units to arrive from deepstrike will be punishing.
That said Blood Angels in general always suffer when going second, the aggressive in your face style is the only one that BA do better than normal marines so I think it is the way to go.
Only things I'd possibly suggest changing is dropping down to a single libby dread, only one can cast wings and without it they just won't keep up. If you want some of the other powers grab a JP libby instead.
Other than that fill out the deathcompany to the max 15 with the extra points and give your scout sergeants chainswords instead of their pistols.

The idea with the lib dreads is one will go up t1 and the other will just smite. T2 the second dread would follow up.
I think I am heavily relying on the war suits to clear out chaff for future charges. Would it be better to take some Storm talons instead which still have the shots but they’re also harder to hit and have greater mobility.

I think the majority of the list is great I'd just condiser swapping out the sanguinary guard for two squads of four agressors they're grrat a screen clearing and just as good at using their power fists.
You trade mobility for this but you're pleanty mobile and it is and
death company, smash captains and libby dreadnoughts are already competing for the same targets.

You spend almost all of your CP on T1, doesnt sound like a good idea. I would suggest two battalions for more CP. Why do you have lemartes, when you use forlorn fury on DC ? They may be dead on T2, so lemartes is pretty useless. Either forlorn fury him as well, or replace him with something else.

No. Bad idea. Aggressors cannot re-roll failed hit rolls when near a sang ancient. They cant deepstrike. Use DC as chaff clearing T1 with all bolter and chainsword, then SG comes in T2 and kills the tough stuff.

But Sangunary guard and ancient are 360 points. And 10 death company are 200 points.
For 560 points you can have 15 agressors.
10 Death company and 10 Sanguanary guard and ancient:
41 Str 4 attacks, 10 bolt pistol shots, 21 str 4 -1ap angelis shots.
35 power fist attacks.
37 wounds, mix of 2+ and 3+ all t4
15 agressors:
90 plus 15d6 str 4 shots. Possibility to double shoot.
63 power fist attacks.
45 wounds 3+ t5
So at least double the shots, nearly double the power fist attacks and arguably better durability.
Plus you clear screen without overwatch and you can spead your shots however you want. Rerolling 35 attacks isn't as useful as 63 attacks. And for anti tank you have smash captains, librarian dreads and invictor fists.

Well, Aggressors are fantastic if used right.
In my games with BA (which I have shelved atm) the DC was always the enemy's priority target and they survived not long enough, not longer than one turn.

its one hell of a hard hitting list its has some huge flaws to much CC for my taste...
The scouts what are there function in your army? for 10-20 points a squad you could give them some long range fire power if you use them to guard your objectives it your not hurt to give them sniper rifles or equip one with a heavy bolter going from 24 to 36 is a huge plus in range.
I to see to little gun fire and to much CC.. powerfist and a gun/pistol could go a long way .
smash captains remember they are not all powerful one las cannon and it could be Night night for them or just a unit of tactical marines .. boltering him so you have to be careful placing them on the battle field. and one huge flaw sure they can kill a tank with ease and if it blows up and dishes out mortal wounds how are you going to cope with that it can happen. your body count is not that high so you will struggle if you lose men like that
invictor Tactical Warsuit, to good for the number of points your pay only trouble is the T6 . It makes them bit of a glass castle. especially if you do not get the go first. and the 2d6 hits is so random. what are your options for them if you do not get to go first ? still infiltrate them and hope they survive the pounding? they have a lot of shots but against a tank they are not worth much ever considered being tank shocked ( tank or something else with a high T charges eats the overwatch with ease and the rest of the troops come and take them out ...
If it was me i would go with the twin auto cannon because it gives you range and more options for targets.
if you have to take and hold objectives? what are you going to do ? just sit there and twist your thumbs? again this is the drawback of only having CC weapons , killing units will only give you so many points lots of missions is capture and hold objectives or hold a few objectives .
I do think its a very fun list to play.

I think the problem with both lists is not enough CP, which others have mentioned. Almost all of your hard-hitting units require significant CP investments to be most effective. I think starting with two battalions is key.
Additionally, those Executioners are going to die almost immediately. Everybody currently is writing lists to deal with Vanilla Marines who are likely to be using lots of vehicles that need to be dealt with. The problem is most, if not all, of them are going to be stronger than BA Repulsors. I'd consider sticking to an all infantry list, with the exception of dreadnought characters, so that your opponent's anti-tank guns are largely wasted.

Fair comment. I’ve adjusted the list again for 2 battalions.
Extra points go into assassin (which I couldn’t select for down dumb reason) and the expected thunder hammer points increase.
I’ve changed the psykic powers to wings and unleash rage and wings and shield. The one with shield would advance t2 and look to shield and smite. The other will wings after the dc and hopefully unleash rage on them.
