well now isn't that interesting, two posts in one day- this one dedicated to my ork waaagh! that is slowly amassing in my storage bins.

orks are a good army. well they are a fantastic army for what i prefer to do with my hobby time- scratchbuild semi-decent vehicles for orks,
chaos, and whoever else. the orks however are one of, if not the best kitbashing faction in wh40k. they can be really good kitbashes or dodgy
ones, all workable in an ork force. because belief power-

well here are the first batch of pictures.

my waaagh! needs a boss. now this becomes a bit tricky. i made a deffdread warboss/looted redemptor dreadnought (with no actual red-dread), and i made another one which is more or less nob sized, possibly a bit bigger. either will suffice.

firstly the deffdread warboss-

next up is my less stompy but equally as killy warboss-

now that we have our boss sorted- what do we need next?

some cute little grots in tiny vehicles did i hear someone say? no, well darn, i'll show them anyway-

grot tank from a servohauler-

then we have what could be a ammo runt or whatever they are called-

next up we have a trukk or battlewagon-

and a looted wagon-

i also have a unit of bionic orks too, haven't taken pictures yet, save that for another time.

but wanted to share one of two potato stompas. well this one is less potato, and more stompa. is exact same dimensions height wise for a stompa, only much skinnier due to no "dress"-

well until next time let your dice roll 's

well continuing on with the waaagh! today i have what i am working on, a 747 which has been looted/rebuilt. to become a heavy ork bomma.

and i guess this has also entered my waaagh! too. another trukk or a looted wagon.

i'll add some kind of texture paint to cover some of the rougher bits, and also the loose paintbrush bristles. note to self, don't use cheapo artist brushes without water. or better yet invest in actual paintbrushes. that's all for today.

hello again.

today we have something a bit out of the left field...like way way out there.

it's an early idea, and implementation. like not even started yet. but would this be better as a mega dread or just a deffdread? it's a sauce bottle.

until i do more work on some of the above posted items, that's it for this post for today, if i'm inspired i'll work on the dakka bomma more. if not i'll attempt to post my bionik orks with more then the dark blue paint undercoat currently on them. which unfortunately doesn't take photos clearly enough or i'd done it by now.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
guess i got sidetracked again.

i'll eventually at some other time long into the future (well when i can be bothered) to skin the entire obvious "toy" bits. but the basics are there. this is my dakkajet "counts as".

today we are going down a different path to get to the same destination. here is my grot revolushun speedfreek waaagh!

this is the heaviest tank that my grots will have.

these are light amor- or medium grot tanks. they are slightly smaller than a rhino (H) and (W) but are almost as (L).

next up we have early "Big Gunz/Mek Gunz" in this pair of artillery from green army men. it's gun bit- is a inch shorter than regular battlecannon, a bit thinner, but "grots" so it doesn't matter. it's still x3 times the size of a grot (H).

and lastly a group shot of the tanks

and for the orks themselves, one of two battlefortresses- this is the first and it's early days as i have yet to do anything to it.

note the AOBR nob near the treads/tracks.

the other battlefortresses tank tread/tracks are even bigger than the one above. and it's only a pair of tank treads so far.

Oh me oh my yes this is some good stuff

You've got a lot on the go and it's all exciting - particularly the heli. Your warboss looks great too - what parts went into him?

I bought the same tanks off eBay hoping to get some IG armour on the cheap with a bit of work but couldn't upscale them effectively - you've given me a great idea on how to recycle them for smaller and greener crews!

Not sure how big the tomato is so can't comment but reminds me of the Mr Potato Head stomp which I loved so can't go wrong either way

Grot revolushions are always a good thing : Curious to see how these will turn out!

Meercat: "All eyes turned to the horizon and beheld, in lonely and menacing grandeur, the silhouette of a single Grot robot chicken; a portent of evil days to come."

thanks, the heli is going to get a bit more work in the nearish furture- i want to make it so the cockpit opens and closes, and the kan bit will be replaced with a top jaw, so imagine heli shark.

the warboss- the blue one is a ironjaw ardboy "unit boss" legs, with a savage orruk boss torso cut off from where the boney bits of decoration (at or around the hips), and did the same but the lower half of that aforementioned ardboyz boss, he has two space marine "pouches" of some description on his belt one is under the cloak (hard to see in the picture) and the other is near the gun arm, which was an AOBR nob, and the other arm is from the same savage orruk boss (*unit boss) with the arm cut off just above the wrist, where i make a plasticard killsaw. still needs more orking up with the kill saw as i think it's too "clean". or not proper orky enough. the piping comes from an imperial knight, which is also looted, but too early to post up yet. and the cloak is the chaos terminator lord/sorcerer model. head is a random savage orruk. i think the one GW uses on the big spear. idk. then used a defiler face plate cut from above the jawline, so the bony "teeth" from the savage orruk (orc/ork) maw could be seen.

the dreadnought boss, however has even more thought and bits put into it- we'll work our way up the model- the feet are sentinels feet, one leg is a kan leg, one is a autocannon from HWT, the replacement leg (autocannon) has bits from the landspeeder kit, working up the miniature the torso is a space marine flyer clear plastic canopy with plasticard on it. the rear of the chassis, is two kanz on top of one another to give it extra height (just under a redemptor dread in size btw), to close the gap where one engine mount would go is a sentinel hatch (armored sentinel), it's positioned in an awkward and hard to explain area. but it's the grot escape route (i like to imagine the boss controls the upper torso, the grot pilot down below controls the legs), above that is two pressure gauges from a plasmacannon- sentinel kit, above that is a kan engine block, with a kan "exhaust" from one of the hatches i cut up for the tanks, and on top of that we have a head made from the armored killa kan hull/upper body, with teeth from the aforementioned kan/z. the lower jaw of the helmet are kanz decoration as well, so imagine if it "closed" it'd be akin to a ork inspired build of a redemptor, but not redemptor. a mechanical "ork" as it were. and we have side armor from armored sentinel kit as "leather armor straps" like you see on "boyz". and inside the dread we have a boarboy boss alternate arms- spear, head is AOBR ork boss, the other arm- it doesn't have one, as it's clipped to a point where it joins the clippy snips arm (upper melee arm- R) it's arm consists of predator sponson lascannon/razorback lascannon, defiler engine exhaust/engine block, lascannon power cell (predator tank), kan ball join (leg), loota "ammo drum", centurion mining drill, defiler leg spikes (claw), ork trukk pintel bits (where claw joins fist) with a knight shield for a buckler (why an ork needs a buckler is beyond me) and the upper shoulders come from kan kit, both are the extra spiky shoulder pads, one angled and one round. the left upper arm is another laspred energy box thing, with a kan leg/arm joiny bit, so it has a rounded (soon to be filed flat) worky bit (real scientific definitions) with some plasticard around the bottom of the weapon- which is a chaos marine chainsword, x4 bolters, a big shoota, assault cannon (DV), melta gun (space marines) defiler autocannon, kan killsaw, and a sentinel plasma cannon, with the cabling from sentinels. the lower left arn is a kan flamer arm, with a armiger chainsword added on top, the lower right arm is the leftover knight armiger chainsword, with a kan chain claw. with a sentinel flamer fuel cannister added for good measure.

the tomato is around the size of a fully constructed potato head- the medium sized ones, or the ones many people (myself included) have used for mek stompas. so with legs it'd be bigger than a potato stompa, but skinnier than a GW plastic one, and skinnier than my stompa (the one with the skirt- like GW's only plasticard). but probably around the same height overall.

the heli is a space marine flyer, cut in half, with a old disused/broken decepticon helicopter toy. looked for it online- nada, didn't find anything remotely similar. but broken, and it still had it's rotor, win for $2. so didn't feel bad using it for kitbash dakka jet...simply added stormraven hurricane bolters on the side, plasticard jaw, and good to go...well for now.
