What Chaos Legion do you think is the most played.

Most played? Almost certainly Black Legion, as they're the ones set up to be able to pick and choose from everything without much fluff or potential rules issues, have the highest profile character, are involved in most major background events involving CSM's, and are relatively easy to paint to boot.

I personally play IW and WE. But in my experience, I see more AL than anything at tournaments. BL is a close second.

No option for fallen angels so I picked Alpha legion.

(Fluffwise Nightlords are my faverite though.)

Black Legion or Alpha Legion because they are really the only ones that are even close to decent. If we include Renegades I'm sure after Vigilus Ablaze there were a ton of "counts as Red Corsairs" for the CP bonus.

Nope, the only renegades fielded really successfully are purge.

As the posterboys, BL have to take the crown here. I've seen a lot of them in recent years. Death Guard a close second.

DG because they're in the Starter Box. And they're cool. I have to know because I've played them before it was cool.

Aside from that? Black Legion because of Abaddon?
WE because Khorne has had good Support long before the other legions? And former Khorne Daemonkin-collectors.
Iron Warriors because shooting was always good and Obliterators despite being changed and nerfed every Edition have always been a good unit?
Thousand Sons because they had the first Primarch?

Oh, and obligatory joke about Dark Angels because they had their stand alone Codex longer than any other CSM Legion

I'd say Alpha Legion are basically just a FOTM army right now, I wonder how many WAAC tournament players actually collect and paint their CSM as Alpha Legion...

Black Legion is probably most played overall.

I'd like to be a Word Bearers player, but they've never been good.

Thanks for the feedback. Myself collect Black Legion because of there full am a Sons of Horus fan so if I could play them in 40k I choose the next best thing. Plus some Soh still serve in the BL.

Death Guard are my close second choice I do have a small force of them.

I think my next project will be either EC or WE when they release.

I also would love an Alpha Legion force one day as I do enjoy there lore and colour scheme.

Before the separation of Thousand Sons and Death Guard, I would have probably leaned toward World Eaters.

Being that they're the poster boys for the CSMs, I'd be surprised if the answer isn't Black Legion.
