Hy folks

Quick question in regards of the Mortek guard. One in ten models can be equipped with a Soulcleaver Greatblade. Does this mean that the Hekatos of the unit can be also equiped weit it? In case of the Stormcasts the warscroll explicitly states that the Sequitor/Liberator prime can take a great hammer.

Thank you in advance.

As currently written, yes. But based on precedent it's probably not intended.

It's similar to how as written for pretty much every unit in the game that has them you could put both the banner and musical instrument both on the unit champion. It's generally assumed this is an oversight, and the standard that people play is that these need to be different models.

I just realised that a good way to know this is the case is in the assembly instructions. GW is pretty good these days at showing the various options in them and the leader is very clearly shown assembled with its shield and sword and not shown as an option with the Greatblade.

They have been moving to change this with warscrolls saying "1 per X" can be music/banner, so unless it shows up in the post-release errata I'd say it's clear to give the leader a greatsword.

Personally I'd just convert him with a third arm hold a shield to avoid the issue entirely.

How does "1 per X" stop you giving the champion the banner etc?

I would think the better wording would be "1 per X may <insert ability>. 1 other <model> per X may <second thing>"

It doesn't, you'd just have to convert it.
