Hey all,

I have a fun list that works out to exactly 2k:

Ravenguard Successor (Stealthy/Long Range Marksmen)

Battalion #1
-2x Jump Captains (TH/SS)
-1x Jump Captain (Teeth of Terra/SS)
-3x5 Scouts (Bolters)
-6x Aggressors (Bolters)

Battalion #2
-1x Jump Librarian
-1x Bike Chaplain (Benediction of Fury, Canticle of Hate Litany)
-3x5 Scouts (Bolters)
-3x3 Assault Centurions (Flamer/Hurricane Bolter)

Spearhead
-1x Primaris Lt (Ex Tenebris)
-3x3 Eliminators (bolt snipers
-1x Thunderfire Cannon

So this list is based on a recent tournament I played with 2x3 Assault Centurions and 6x Aggressors. They were, simply put, amazing. I'd either use master of ambush (on gotten using Hero of the Chapter) or deepstrike the Aggressors. Master of Ambush plus infiltrators can get them in position to double tap AND assault if the enemy isn't extremely careful. I deepstrike the Assault Centurions in with a captain to babysit and they just wrecked. They'd drop in turn 2 with tactical doctrines active, blow 1-2 squads away with fire, then use raven's claw and canticle of hate (curtesy of the turbo boosting chaplain running up the field) to get 80% chance charges to demolish something in CC.

This list has zero dedicated anti-armor shooting because, quite simply, it doesnt need it. It wins by VERY quickly blowing away screens then charging forward with smash captains and centurions/aggressors. The Ravenguard eliminators and Ex Tenebris Lt reliably kill a medium or weaker characters VERY reliably, easily putting down a captain-equivalent (or several IG officers) a turn.

The deployment options also just swarm over the field and take board control very quickly, then enemy needs to screen EXTREMELY carefully to keep them back. The extra range really comes into focus in those circumstances, as hurricane bolters and aggressor guns can reach significantly farther than they would otherwise, the centurions are primarily a shooting threat with the additional benefit of being brutally effective in CC.

Further I choose stealthy because it really adds up on the Centurions: they get a 5+ save vs even AP-4 guns outside of 12''. If they clear the drop zone, the enemy has to work extra hard to bring them down from farther away.

This list uses the Ravenguard power and warlord trait to deny overwatch to get up close and personal with things like knights or Executioners.

What do y'all think? Could leaning this heavily into delivered CHONKS be effective competitively?

Well, looks scary to me.
Without heavy armor the enemy's anti-tank weapons are largely wasted.
Aggressors, Centurions and HQs are key units that need to be fielded wisely.

I've played a similar list a few times. I'm still learning it, so I face-planted a few times trying to play defensively against a Ultramarines gunline.

Something to look at:
make one of your Centurion squads a full 6-man squad. You can combat squad them if you need to, but that lets you get more bang for your buck from stratagems or chaplain buffs.

Really nice list. I hve some questions and a remark or two. Main reason is I would like to play a similair list in the near future.

1. Could you tell more about what warlord traits and relics you would be using. I would be tempted to give al of the captains relics for extra damage, extra attack etc. But that would leave very littile CP for the game to begin.

2. Also, do you use the chapter master stratagem? Seems like with al those bolter shots they might do wonders.

3. How would you deal with flyer heavy lists. Flamer do wonders but can't down 5+ flyers. You have smash captains but is that enough? Do you have experience playing this list vs flyer spam?

Idea's

1. Maybe downgraid the teeth of terra captain to a luitanant. He has one less attack, but you'r reroll bubble for all those shots (including the flamers) might be awesome.

2. With the inquisition update out there, putting hector rex in there would be a good idea. He's cheaper in points than the librarian with jump pack, has similair deny overwatch power (but goes off on a 6 rather than a 7) and has a power to get CP. You could lose a character and still have 5 for double battalion and spearhead.
