Sorry to tell you that the only competitive list Necrons have left today is 3 DDAs and 3 doom scythes. Add a battalion of tesla immortals for CP. Wraith and dlord could be used for an outrider along with scarabs. Gauss pylon is also used.

damn im not trying to commit to 3 DDA could i convert both nightscythes plus AB for the formation and use the other AB for CCB? i dunno if i want to invest in more models i have a weird feeling a codex update may come up for necrons

however i guess i need 1 more set of troops? i heard min necron squads are just useless

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Something i came up with however not sure if viable now, might switch overlord for lord for better points
1555
battalion formation
Destroyer lord x1SoL x1phylactery/nano-scarab x1 rez orb -165
Cryptek x1 chronemtron x1 technomancer x1 Sol - 95
overlord x1 SoL x1 res x1 phase-shifter - 129
troops:
Warriors x20 - 240pt
Immortals Tesla x10 -170pt
Immortals x5 gauss-85pt

Heavy support
Annilation Barge x1twin tesla des x1 tesla cannon - 146pt

Airwing Detachment
Night Scythe - 160pt
Night Scythe - 160pt
Death Scythe - 205pt

the idea is dlord and gauss immortals in night scythe teleport and rapid fire hunt a unit while dlord tanks, tesla immortals in nightscythe camp an obj, warriors with overlord and cryptek hold it down with annihilation barge

Your points are wrong. They changed with CA2018, and might change again when CA2019 is released next month.

I posted in your other thread. I wouldn't worry about making a "competitive" list at this point. Get a few games under your belt and see what sticks. Most importantly, have some fun and get excited about being back in the hobby.

Yes, the current way reanimation protocols functions rewards large units (particularly with the Immortal Pride Warlord Trait or the 2CP pass morale stratagem). 5-man Immortals and Deathmarks can be an independently operating irritant, however.

I'm concerned about your lack of anti-tank. I think you will notice that quickly, though you can certainly play to objectives.

Indeed, I'd use battlescribe or another tool to get the pt costs straight.

Issue with the list is that you are absolutely screwed when you face tanks. You have nothing there! Death scythe only one but even as sautekh d3 shots at S10 Dd6 just ain't cutting it. And night scythes are just plain stinking death traps...

Oh wait is that the bomber variant as well rather than the big zzap gun variant? If so you literally have no guns whatsoever to actually scare tanks. Immortals, warriors etc worthless. Annihilator barge worthless. Tesla can be used to finish up near dead in a pinch but not really worthy target.

And necrons are seriously lacking in AT department. You basically have DDA(but you need minimum 2 to have any reliability...And killy power. Single averages only about 5 wounds and some decimals against leman russ so you need 3 rounds of fire. So face 3 and you are looking at 9 turns of shooting...If you survive that long...). Destroyers can wreck most vehicles in a turn but are also wrecked in return so are bit of a one shot wonders(make them count). And then there's doomscythes though they are more of for the mortal wound stratagem with 3 of them. And then the pylon which is rather expensive model and is only worth it against flying vehicles(particularly -1 or worse targets) and super heavies. Vs say leman russes 2 dda is better.

You can do okay against infantry heavy army but the moment somebody brings something like 3 leman russ(and those aren't even nastiest vehicles you can face...) you are screwed. You have literally zero guns to deal with them!
