Been painting these on and off this past 4 weeks. I've not painted the eyes as I don't feel capable of doing so.

A few firsts for me on these models. First Necroumda models, first attempt at zenithal highlighting, first attempt at object source lighting, and I used Citadel Shades to quite good (for me) effect, quite a bit also, which is something I haven't traditionally been able to do.

Little peeved that, despite trying to remove them, I've still got visible seam lines, and many I just didn't spot until looking at these photos...

The leader (I still need to finish painting his plasma gun) -

The heavy, he's converted so he's carrying the old 90s metal model heavy stubber. I play Oldcromunda, 2nd edition, not the current money grab, er I mean, rules, so a valid loadout -

The rest of the gang (some of the heads don't sit on the necks well, I think I used the wrong heads for each neck piece) -

Group photo -

That's a lot of firsts Rob, I think you've done well - the armour is looking great for a first attempt! You have nice highlight points and it's looking pretty smooth.

If you're not confident yet to do the eyes, then I recommend you practice on any spare heads you have available. Also if you can, just try dropping a little shade into them with the tip of the brush and not much on it, a little/more contrast goes a long way.

Taking close up photos of your minis is always useful for learning, I often find little things I either didn't paint or didn't fully finish and there can be errors the eye just doesn't quite pick up.

Still nice work, always a pleasure to hear someone plays proper Necromunda

yeah - i don't paint eyes anymore. just deep shadow. you don't really see if a mini has eyes 'done' or not once they're on the table
btw i once did did the iris and pupils on a Felix Jeagor model so i could do it. my eyes are good enough anymore though!!

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
