Been Around the Block




I don't find the palace guard models very appealing, but I wonder if that is because of the way they have been painted. Has anyone painted them in a different color scheme, if so images would be appreciated.

Painted mine based on the Mirkwood scheme I had already been using for normal Wood Elves (before the proper Mirkwood line even existed), and I do feel they look better with some browns and greens.
The pictured version is obviously a conversion, but ignoring the banner the only thing I changed about the figure was to remove the protrusions form his helmet; other than that it's the standard miniature.
