Brigade

6 bullgryn with power mauls + mix of brute and slabs

I know im troop light but I just wanted a decently competitive list with all the toys. All criticism appreciated also advice on what a purist waac catachan list would look like.

I believe he means a unit of 6 bullygryn, which is perfectly valid.
I note I have never gotten GOOD results from a sentinal chainsword (its 2 poitns pissed away every time)

Also, for this list, consider my favorite pocket nightmare catcachan tank ..
leman russ conquerer battle cannon with coaxial storm bolter, two heavy flamer, 1 heavy bolter

You end up with a solid performer that rerolls 2 heavy flamers for 2best of 4 d6 flame hits, and rerolls (if you are careful) its main gun's misses. That outperforms a bs3 tank in a lot of ways. I ain't saying better, but its how I tend to run them.

Also, consider a few flamers among the troops, for the order "burn them out" .. and perhaps, on the officers (who are character protected) a few powerfists or axes.

I think a catachan list with 3 ogryn bodygaurd and deddog (which are 216 points total) vs a list with 6 ogryn the enemy can target (which is 252 points) is a possible way to go. Your sligth loss of mauls is made up for by sprinkling axes and flamers among the soldiers of your command and squads, and your characters become very resistant to sniping from anyone who isn't ready to commit 28 points of snipe damage to kill ONE commander.

Just thoughts, and really, just my own preferences. What you got is solid even if I look at it and say "that tank better start off board or someone's killing it turn 1".

Don't underestimate the value of being hard to snipe on turn 1. A lot of numarine lists have alpha snipe strike built up into them with eliminators, that can start anywhere on the board and snipe your characters even without line of sight.

Its unseemly powerful when for example they go after only your ministerium priest and straken, and cut your melee power by 2/3 in the first roudn.

I'm not sure why you would take a Tallarn auxiliary super heavy. I'm fairly sure they can't benefit from the Tallarn trait, and that an auxilliary detachment doesn't unlock the specific stratagem, you just get the keyword whithout any of it's benefit. You might aswell make him Catachan.

He could shift 2 other tank commanders to tallarn, all he needs then is one command and he has a supreme comm + supergheavy, strategems in play, superior tank commander maneuvering, and a superheavy he can ambush.

Dropping one of the bullygryn for one powerfist and plasma pistol equipped lord commisar isn't a poor move in that case, to fill the roster out nicely.
