It seems that we might have rule change, or GW's right hand not talking with its left hand... Again...

The Start... Then Continue Collecting! article just popped and it has a very interesting little detail.

The article says, and I quote
"we highly recommend grabbing Codex Supplement: Imperial Fists.* The combined abilities of their marksman bolt carbines and Siege Masters Warlord Trait will mean that for each hit roll of a 6, your Imperial Fists Infiltrators will score two automatic wounds!"

Sounds great! Except that the SM FAQ specifically calls this out as a no go in,
"Q: If an ability or rule generates an additional hit (e.g. the Siege Masters Chapter Tactic or Whirlwind of Rage), do these additional hits gain any other benefits that would apply to an attack on a hit roll of 6 (e.g. an Infiltrator’s marksman bolt carbine)?
A: No..."

Possible rule change soon? Or maybe GW's departments really do not do a good job at being able to communicate.

Pure incompetence. They also once had a community article claiming that Bjorn the fellhanded could now be transported in a Storm Raven...

They initially ruled it exactly the way the article describes. Then, when they realized it created unintended interactions like this, they changed the FAQ answer (you should see a commentary in the FAQ you quoted from explaining exactly what happened).

Depending on when that article was written and proofed, it may very well have been accurate.

I wouldn't be surprised if these community pages are scheduled far in advance and not written the day before

Most definitely. They would have a backlog of filler articles and rules articles lined up months in advance to coincide with their release calendars.

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

Also, some kerfluffle about the Aeldari model not being able to take certain wargear... because he isn't sold with that wargear as a model...

...kinda like Intercessor Sergeants and Hand Flamers, Chainswords, Power Swords, Power Fists, Thunder Hammers...

Mob Rule is not a rule.

Or the Black Templars preview gushing about what a good idea it is to put a Chaplain in a Crusader so it can buff the transported unit that you intend to use the "no overwatch if I disembarked from a Crusader this turn" strat on, when Chaplain abilities trigger if they're on the table at the start of the turn.
