Due to life I've had to take a long break from painting. And as we all know, paints dont last forever. However, I cannot find replacements for my paints as they have been discontinued. So I'm wondering what everyone is using now a days. I loved loved loved the old Citadel Foundation paints as I feel they were some of the best coverage paints ever created. So before I drop a Benjimin on new paint pots, I'm wondering what you good people are using? BTW, I have no brand loyalty, so I'm willing to look at most anything.

Citadel/GW, Vajello, Reaper are all pretty commonly used. GW is the most expensive and some paints in the range are great, others are not. Vajello is pretty consistent but I find their washes to be sub-par. Reaper has a huge range and I've yet to be disappointed by any of their paints.

Instar makes a range that duplicates a lot of old GW paints if you're looking to match the old stuff.

I use a combination of gee dubs and vallejo for my main colours. Get vallejo black and whites for sure. This is mainly because I can pick these up on high streets though.. I should check out other brands. I've heard good things about scale 75, army painter etc. Even greenstuff world make paints now.

But yeah get gee dubs washes for sure. Vallejo washes suck.

Your best bet would be to get a couple of pots of each brand in the color(s) that you'll be using the most on your project and then decide which paint line (or lines) you like best.
