Praise the God Emperor and pass the plastic glue! Now that the Sisters can more easily be converted I decided to dust off the older metal ones and decided on a lore and paint scheme. Lore wise
Spoiler:
they ally with the Space Wolves I've been painting earlier this year. The idea is that the SW successor's were given a relic similar to the Cup of Wulfen for recruiting and it was stolen by CSM/renegade IG. A minor order found the dead strike team tasked with returning the Cup and knew more Wolves would be coming to reclaim it. The Order spent decades protecting it while the successor chapter got caught in a warp storm getting there. So while the SW are mostly the newer primaris they're painted as 30k colors grey and yellow: these Sororitas took space wolf grey and yellow paint scheme not knowing it was a successor with different colors.

Eventually the Cup was returned and the SW allowed the continued color and name of Ægir Chalice despite it being a Cup of Wulfen. Also Ægir was the name of the leader of the strike team charged with returning it. I realize this seems like more SW lore than my sisters but this is the connection I came up with and now I'm thinking up the various warbands and heresy they would have had to root out in the intervening years before they met up.

I went with Space Wolf grey and yellow, with the weapons being Ice White. I had the Seraphim and Repentia ready to paint so here we go!

That's a nice color scheme, works well. And nothing says repent like having to run in bright yellow into the enemies front lines

Thanks, Viterbi.

Here's more progress as I built the box as normal with changes to the Seraphim into Zephyrim

Spoiler:

and three of the sisters into different weapons

Spoiler:

You can see the left one has a heavy bolter I grabbed from Betrayal at Calth while the two right ones will get storm bolters

Spoiler:

This is a storm bolter from the older terminators that came on 28mm bases as a test fit. I think it works well and it will give me 4 storm bolters.

With those primed I can start painting them in the days to come and compare the metal sisters to the plastic ones. Just holding them the newer ones are taller but thinner. In other news I damaged my original light box and will start working to fix that so my pictures can be better.

Another week, another update. Here I have the Zeraphim mostly done but I still need to highlight the yellow and do a final spot check. I'm still having trouble with faces but at arms length they seem passable.

Spoiler:

and these battle sisters have a cannoness with a handy dandy holster to prevent WYSIWYG issues

Spoiler:

Again, I need to highlight the yellow and do a spot check. My brush can a-wander if I paint for too long in one sitting. Lastly, I'd like to ask if this format with the pics in spoilers is working. I know in the past it could cause long page loading times but other threads seem to just show it all the way down. Thoughts?

Models look great! Good luck getting the flying ones on their stands, I seem to be unable to do it properly

I finally got a hold of St Celestine and decided to wolf her up per my lore. I decided to replace her sword with a Axe from the SC box and used a quad beard as braids for her hair. A TWC pistol should be visible from the first two pics here.

I really need to fix my lightbox though...

For the cape I greenstuffed fur and used an old WHFB wolf tail from some goblin rider I had. I decided to offset the tail to show it was more tacked on rather than one whole skin with the tail attached.

Now that my light box has been fixed here are more pictures. The Zeraphim have been touched up and glued onto their stand, just basing left to do

And the Cannoness with some Sororitas finshed up needing just the desert base to do.

So now that the pics are showing the colors closer to what you see in person I still need to get a good focus on the groupings. Still made good progress and the skin tones for the Repentia and arco flagellants. That will be the next update after the New Year

Alright, first update for the new year. the reason for the delay was St Celestine cried out for attention and I forgot to take pics of the repentia and Arco-Flagellants.

Here's a base layer

Followed by layers and highlighting

You'll notice the tail went from one side to the middle and that was a oops it fell moment. Thankfully it was before the base layer on the cape so I could greenstuff more fur in that area. I also need to finish the axe, her face, and I'm not sure about the wing highlights. Whether I take it all the way in to the gold or just layer over it again with ulthuan grey to mellow it out.

Any thoughts on the face and highlight?

Celestine is coming along nicely! For the face I would recommend blue glowing eyes, because they'd contrast well with her blonde hair.
I'm at a loss with the wings highlight. I tend to say go up to the gold, that may give a kind of cel shading look. But I don't know, if it will mesh good with the rest of the model.

Some time later and I still haven't finished Celestine. I did make her eyes glow blue so there is that. I mentioned in the last post I would do the Arco-Flagellants and here there are!

I read a new way to do dark skin and really prefer that to my previous method. The new way is a layer of Zandri Dust, agrax earthshade and then Seraphim Sepia to taste. I find one or two washes make a nice effect.

I then started work on many bolter Sisters and and nearly finished this Imagifier. Just some work on the scroll on the post left to do.

And to change it up I have two immolators nearly done as well.

Just the headlights and those little crenelations along the top. I painted them white for the time being but I'm not reaaly sure what color to use. A red or blue gem? Yellow or cold white already on the tank? Something else entirely like black and silver? The interwebs usually have them blue from what I can tell, also mostly OoML black so that hasn't been a great inspiration. After these, I will likely dive into a bunch more sisters like Retributors and some more vehicles like the Exorcists. I have one primed up and awaiting its plastic reinforcement. Thanks for the replies and I'll keep plugging away with updates every week or so.

More progress done with the Immolators but when I tried to take their picture along with 10 Sisters it didn't come out well so I have to mes with the light box again. On the good side of things I managed to get my first Exorcist mostly done.

There's a few details left to do but for the most part it's done. I'm debating whether I should use the scroll decals or a pen like I have in the past. Any thoughts?

I managed to get my light box up again and here are the Sisters I've finished. I also decided to show squad markings using the I on the shoulderpad. This was the suggestion of Asmodai, so shoutout and thanks! The marks are more prevalent in person. There are two squads of 2 storm bolters and one with a heavy bolter.

Green Squad

Red Squad

Blue Squad
