Anyone know (with any degree of certainty) if there are any new armies planned for AoS, and what they will be?

Games Workshop are the only ones who know this information
The game has teased both a Light and Draconic/Dark Aelf armies to us for a long while since the game launched. The Light being basically "angelic Aelves" whilst the dark are more draconic.
The Dark are supposed to be the dominate population of the Realm of Shadow under Malarion and there is some concept art in the big rulbook. There's also hints that they might be like the mistweaver model - all shadows and such.
HOWEVER there is no confirmation and even the Old World had loads of armies that were well developed in the lore that never made it to the tabletop.
heck even Ossiarchs were totally a surprise. We didn't even get many lore hints about them being an actual full army like that until GW was getting underway with their preview video hints a few months before launch - even then we didnt'see a single model until very late in the process. So GW might well have other "surprise" armies out there.

Yes, they do seem to keep things very close to their chest. And indeed, Ossiarchs were a surprise!

Yes. There will be new armies. No, we dont know what they are.
But it makes sense for GW to be working on more faction's that can draw in more people. And with AoS being so High Fantasy and malleable, I wouldn't doubt we will see more crazy stuff like the IDK or the KO making it's way in. Perhaps a return of some outlandish armies from WHFB, like the Vampire Coast, Fimir jacked up to 11, and maybe a Grand Cathay like army with Oriental aesthetics. Juiced up on AoS of course.
Personally, I'd like to see an army that originates in Chamon, sort of like a Warforged/Golem race.
One thing we have gotten hints on are the Gobbo Pirates, Rigger Grots or something like that. They feature in some of the KO Battletome text. So maybe we will see that soon enough.

I mean, fifty bucks is on the line.
There's no rule that says I can't. Hive Fleet Hercual - 6760pts
Hazaak Dynasty - 3400 pts
Seraphon - 4600pts

Grotbag Scuttlers. And yeah, they've been mentioned in multiple books so far. Forbidden Power was the most recent I believe.
I think they have been the most consistent rumor of what could be coming. Though as Overread says, we went years with mentioned armies/factions in WHFB and nothing was delivered.

They hinted that something large and something from the realm of light was coming. However they might have just been being all "mystical" about the new Ogrid and mindcat slaves to darkness models that they'd already previewed as those are coming soon (the mind-cat comes from the realm of life originally)
