Hi.

Starting painting Iyanden Guardians tonight. Looking for some advice-

1- Does Corax White then 1 or 2 layers of Casandora Yellow work well for the yellow?(if so, what about then for larger units like Falcons etc?) Thought 2 layers of Casandora might warm the yellow effect?

2- Would I be better going with this new Contrast Yellow on a base of something? Never used contrast paints(aware of what they are)

Be prepared to put some work in doing yellow. You may need more than 2 layers

Contrast on the guardians will be a timesaver.

If you airbrush the contrast works great through the airbrush as an "ink" on vehicles. I've done all yellow vehicles with contrast. You still need to do highlight work but to establish your yellow it's fast and easy.

It won't look as "perfect" as carefully done yellow paint work but it will be fast and look good enough.

I'd use a yellow based primer and just cut out 90% of the time.

Any recomendations though?

I thought half he problem was that they did away with Averland Sunset spray?

Is there something similar available?

Yellow with a brush is a pain. It is very difficult to get a good looking yellow without any unwanted irregularities, very similar to white. The worst idea is to start with black primer and work the layers up to finished.

Contrast paint over bone or white spray primer- depending on your goal - is the easiest way with a brush.

My Iyanden army is painted with an airbrush, which is ideal for smooth application of paint without brushmarks.

Cheers for all the input folks. I went with Corax White and applied 2 layers of Casandora Yellowshade. Yellow looks ok I think?

I think they look 'ok' as I painted em pretty quick. As im not familiar with Eldar really (looong time away from 40k) any thoughts on anything ive missed on them or that I could add?
