I'm having a quick 1k game from the new CA against orks.

I haven't used successors before, so need to ask few things.

A) If I use a successor chapter, I can't benefit from either of the RG specific rules, I'm regarding to +1 to hit and wound against characters. Of course my Long-range marksmen and bolter fusillades supercede the +1 cover CT, but does it affect also on the character killer part?

B) How many extra CP I need to pay to have two relics from RG. See my list.

Batallion

Captain in phobos armour - Korvadari bolts - marksman's honour
Lieutenant in phobos armour - 2nd WT Master of ambush (1CP) - ex tenebris (1CP)

5x intercessors - bolt rifles - power fist
5x intercessors - stalker bolt rifles
5x intercessors - stalker bolt rifles

6x aggressors - boltstorm gauntlets
Invictor warsuit - incendium cannon
Invictor warsuit - incendium cannon

Eliminators

1000 on the nose.

C) How does the list look overall? Aggressors for T2 deepstrike in tactical doctrine. First I was thinking masters of ambush T1, but I hope I get more T2 from -1 AP. First time I'm running the captain in that particular loadout, but on paper it might snipe a character single handedly. Flat 4 damage, no need for LoS and with extended range, soinds a good company for the ex tenebris and eliminator squad.

If I understand correctly master of ambush allows them to move before the GAME, so they are just not even counted as havin gmoved, which doubles their rate of fire.

This offsets the -1ap by a ratio of appoximately 74 to 45, (which is the statistical max slaughter assuming you hit with and woudn with evry shot. Real world, I believe its more like just over half that, or roughly 40 kill on roudn 1 vs 25 on roudn two.

I may be wrong about this, my ravengaurd experiences mostly come from being the victim, not the ravengaurd successor.

Also a LOT of people who run warsuits seem to favor the 3" range increase trait, for 11" warsuit incendium madness.

Thanks for pointers. So I tweaked the list, dropped master artisan for long-range marksmen.

I've tried to answer my own questions..

A) I only get to use stratagems, not the RG rules?

B) I can give 1x relic to successor. In my case the ex tenebris for 1 CP. I get a free special-issue wargear as the free relic. So I can have both korvadari bolts and ex tenebris in this particular list.

C) Now that I took a 2nd warlord trait the master of ambush. I can decide between T1 ambush and T2 deepstrike depending on the mission and who is more likely to get the first turn.

Better and am I correct?
