I've dived into creating a Chaos Space Marine Legion and am looking for a known and bitter rivalry for my Space Marines Chapter. I haven't chosen my Space Marine Chapter, so anything is goes, but I am not well versed in some aspects of Chaos Space Marines and was wondering if someone could help me out with regards to this subject, I'd really appreciate it. I am not looking for Thousand Sons or Death Guard, as the models that I have purchased aren't compatible. So in short, anything Codex: Chaos Space Marines.

Nickin' 'ur stuff

Iron Warrios vs. Imperial Fists
Ultramarines vs Word Bearers..

those are some of the more obvious rivalries, from the top of my head.

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like soup. Now you put soup in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put soup into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now soup can flow or it can crash. Be soup, my friend.

Thousand Sons historical vendetta partner are the Space Wolves. Death Guard, well pretty much everybody hates them.

This. And also this:

I really don't think there are any other rivalries that mathc those 3 for intensity, but you could also have:
Iron Hands vs Emperors Children as their Primarchs were best friends before Fulgrim went chaos and killed Ferrus for not joining him
UMs vs Black legion just because they seem to be the most prevalent.

Ultramarines vs Word Bearers since Calth
Ultramarines vs Death Guard since the Plague Wars (so, very new background, not really a long rivalry per se)
Dark Angels vs Space WOlves ()
Dark Angels vs Fallen
Dark Angels vs Crimson Slaughter (man, those Dark Angels, what's up with them?)
Note: All of thes epale compared to the ones already mentioned.

You could also simply make up your own successor chapter and write some background about a specific CSM legion/ warband that raided/ destroyed their homeworld to create your own rivalry. That might actually be more interesting than repeating the same rivalries that have been used over and over.

Also, if there are some Space Marine players in your area, you might want to make their faction your enemy faction and work backwards from there.

Blood angels vs black legion , but it's somewhat onesided. Black legion don't have any particular beef with Blood Angels but Abaddon is wielding the weapon that killed their primarch. Back in third there even was a rule to represent this.

Did their rivalry also come from the Ultramarines destroying Monarchia on the orders of the Emperor for not being fast enough in conquering worlds/religious ideology?

Well essentially I believe that was the root cause of the Word Bearers holding a grudge against the ultras. Betrayal at Calth is the pay back in essence.

That's my recommendation.

Both Dark Angels and Salamanders have some beef with the Night Lords. The Night Lords used the Thramas Crusade to basically keep the Lion out of most of the Horus Heresy. Salamanders are one of the Legions/Chapters most dedicated to protecting mortal humans so particularly hate the Night Lords for their gruesome terror tactics.

The Red Corsairs and some night lord allies recently stole all of the Marines’ Errant stored gene seed, potentially destroying the chapter. The marines errant (white on the right blue on the left) undoubtedly loathe the red corsairs and night lords.
