Morning all,

Was taking a look at my big box of sprues from my Conquest subscription earlier, and I've got quite a few of the sprues to make the Munitorum Containers lying around. Is there any mechanical reason to build them with the storm bolters attached, at present? I'm concerned they'd get damaged during play/storage.

Mechanically in-game if you use the terrain rules from CA19 any infantry within 1" of a storm bolter attached to the container can fire it instead of their normal weapon (same stats as standard storm bolter)

Otherwise, there is no other reason apart from aesthetics

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

Magnets are always the answer. I didn’t bother to magnetize mine but I can rectify that later if I can find the stormbolters.

You don't even need magnets. Just assemble without, the pegs on the SBs fit nicely once primed

yeah the pegs are pretty good on these if you just want to have the Storm Bolters as an option.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

You can't stack them properly if you fit the weapons. While.pegs might be ok, continued use will impact your paint job. Not necessarily about problem for scenery that should brobablynlook a bit grungy anyway, but it's a principle.thing

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I'd be tempted to get a good bare metal finish down first, and varnish it, before painting the hull colours on - that way, free weathering & chipping over time
