So I was wondering, perhaps in particular with regards to tomb blades, if in the current marine meta would gauss be better than Tesla? It seems that no AP is hard to overcome against 2 and 3+ saves. Thanks for the input.

If you're talking tesla carbine vs gauss blaster, the tesla is basically always better outside of rapid fire range, and when in rapid fire range they are not too different if there are any buffs going around (MWBD & mephrit dynasty will push tesla ahead of gauss at close range).
For TB's they are fast enough to make use of the strength's of the gauss weapon, and as a fly unit don't mind getting too close - but those same useful abilities work just as well on tesla at a safer distance and destroyers are still a better general purpose gauss platform.

I dont use TBs all that much, not saying they are not good, but it really depends on what you want them to do.
Tesla is often better against hordes and especially with mwbd.
With TBs though I would likely take gauss because they are not only fast but because you get 2 guns. You wont be getting mwbd because you you are fast so thats a strike against Tesla.
With immortals I have been running 2 10x immortals with Tesla and 1 10x with Gauss. Still not totally sold on the Gimmortals but I am still testing with them.

Quick math.
20 Tesla vs primaris = 4 dmg average
Gauß 20 = 5,9 average.
Without rapid fire = 2,9
And 20 Tesla with +1 hit =4,9

As TB can't be MWBD'ed and are fast enough they could actually get to rapid fire that's about the one place where gauss could be used. And even then it's not huge difference and there's still other targets to consider so...

I would love to see blasters changed to assault 2 and Tesla to loose the 6+ proc but become rapid fire 3. Seems so much more thematic.
A big lighting gun should earth itself over longer distances, so be lethal at short range, not long. A big two barrelled gun should fire two shots at all ranges.
