Hi fellows
I have just opened my third box of GS full of very small hardened yellow lumps. Two of the packages where with separated blue and yellow tag in the box, the last with the classical side by side colour. Now, in each package there has been the usual small hard edges and bits of hardened stuff you just remove before starting to mix it together. I'm pretty careful with that. However, I have now found for the third time in a row, that when I start to mix the GS, the yellow putty contains small, sometimes very small, already hardened elements... So hard that I cannot get them to blend into the blue no matter how long I go about kneading, and unfortunately, those little annoying bits are also far too numerous and far too small to reliably find and get out. So even if I'm careful, I find my sculpting interrupted (and sometines/often) ruined. Bloody annoying.
Now, I used up the first bag, thinking it was a one of thing and not wanting to make a fuss, the second I put away for basing and stuff, but now with the third, I'm fed up.
Do anyone have similar experiences with green stuff from Army Painter? Or do you guys know if things like age or storage in the store could be the problem? I need to know if I'm going to shout at the supplier or my local store manager (just kidding, i'm very polite).

So you're not using this stuff?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MQ7EHHC/
It's way cheaper and I think it's the original green stuff.

All green stuff is the same stuff (Kneadatite), just with different branding.
The yellow goes hard and crumbly with age, while the blue gets harder and rubbery. It sounds like you've received old stock.

I've had exactly the same experience with army paint Green Stuff - on multiple occasions. Army Painter products in general I have found to be sub-par in quality;nowadays I avoid the brand completely.
I switched to Games Workshop for GS and haven't had any issues since.
Also: Yes all GS is kneadatite, but doesn't necessarily mean it's the same stuff - unless I am missing something it is not all made in same factory? So there is definitely room for a sub-par version of the product to be getting made out there. Again, as with the OP I have had this issue consistently with specifically Army Painter branded GS, so I fond it hard to believe they are all 'old' batches.

I also feel the "sand" you're getting is from being old. Yes, it is possible a company gets a lot of these, because hobby sales can be sporadic, so a company buys a quantity to get a discount, then takes many years to sell it off. I also use the tube as stated above and store it in the refrigerator (as a note I separate it into ziplocks, get the air out, and then seal them as well)

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage. |

Thanks for the advice and information guys While I didn't store it in the fridge (will from now on), I had the boxes in my home for less than a month, in air tight containers after opening, so I don't think the storage problem is due to time spend here with me. Also, man, Fajita Fan, I used to buy directly from Kneadite in the olden days before i quit the hobby for quite some time. I simply had forgotten how cheap and easy it was to get thanks.

Did you also buy it from the same place? Just to get an idea (I want my money back for the last batch).

i got mine from Heresy Miniatures. Back in the day he sold for £10. Still not used it all. He doesn't sell it anymore but i'm sure you'll be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.
BTW he was the one that told me the freezer trick.

I've had mine out and exposed to the air and heat, summer heat, really hot, high shelf. It melts in the summer. Still usable, still fine. It's years old now.
That stuff has gotta be old as dirt.
