How do you think the two boxes compare in terms of value? £85 compared to £140 is a pretty massive difference but in terms of models they seem much closer in value according to my not researched estimate.
Did Xenos players get the short end of the stick? More evidence that pwer armour is the main focus of GW? Just wondered if I'm wrong with my estimate.

Alls I know is I bought the Drukhari half of the Phoenix models off eBay, and even with shipping it was cheaper than buying the kits, so I'm not complaining.

You're comparing apples to oranges - Armies of Vengeance are mono-pose models from the old Dark Vengeance starter box, whereas Blood of the Phoenix are 'full' kits. Also, you can get Blood of the Phoenix cheaper from third-parties - best price I've seen is £98.

Maybe a better way to look at it is just how good of a deal you get for £42.50 for half the box, I reckon this box is going to go like hotcakes.

Ah, didn't realise that. Still doesn't make Blood of the phoenix look any cheaper but it does help explain why this box is cheap.

This box set is last edition's starter set, minus the rulebook etc. You're better off comparing it to Dark Imperium, and then it doesnt look so hot.

But, as was JUST noted, Blood of the Phoenix are fully customizable kits, not mono-pose like Dark Imperium...

So? I'm talking about Dark Vengeance. It should be compared to Dark Imperium.

The counter argument to that is that the vehicles aren't particularly customisable and the Vyper and Falcon date back to the mid 1990's, making them pretty ancient. Dark Vengeance also offers you a proper way to get started with either of the 2 armies inside, unlike Blood of the Phoenix.

Have to agree, Hellions are the one thing you could delete from the next Drukhari codex and no eyebrows would even raise, and that Drazhar was an insulting aesthetic downgrade. And then the Eldar side has a Vyper, I mean come on

Hellions are pretty cool models through. It`s not the model problem that the rule team can`t make it work.

And yes Blood of the Phoenix price was spit in the face of aeldar players.

Armies of Vengeance I think is more of a thing for collectors who missed out on the models.

Agreed. If you want to make a good list in the current edition, neither of the armies are worth it at all. This is for hobbyists and completionists.

Honestly, it's not that the price is bad for the kits in the box (assuming you're ok with GW pricing generally for a moment!).

It's two things:

1. Even with a good discount, 160 is a lot for a box for a lot of people even if you want everything in it.
2. Too much of the box was taken up with kits people didn't really want generally.
