I'm trying to find a bit more lore about the Forgeworld Gryphonne IV. I read what I found in the online Wiki but I don't have the Adeptus Mechanicus Codex. Can somebody tell me if there is more info about Gryphonne in there? Or if there are any other sources that are worthwile?
I'm mainly interested how they "ticked" before the forgeworld was destroyed, in a sense of how they handled things philosophically (like Stygies drive for Xenotech or Lucius knack for teleporting etc.). And also if there are sources on what the survivors did afterwards. Are they some kind of flying forgeworld now?
There's not a lot to be found, I've looked. Supposedly a cadre of tech priests fled with their
STC knowledge and are looking for a new world to turn into a Forge World. Also note that the Legio Gryphonicus was at Cadia when it fell, but it wasn't confirmed to be wiped out, so some of it may have escaped and if they did, they undoubtedly have some of the Gryphonne IV tech priests as well.
The Knight house of Cadmus used to swear fealty to Gryphonne IV, and fought vs the hive fleet, but the destruction of the world caused House Cadmus to become an Imperial house, severing ties.
Then there's the Knights of Gryphonne, a Space Marine chapter who are currently a crusading fleet based chapter, who were probably supplied and assisted from the Gryphonne system.
My personal headcanon is that the Knights are helping the tech priests to locate and conquer a new world for the tech priests to build a new base for the Legio Gryphonnicus.
Horus Heresy and Adeptus Titanicus might have more lore about the Legio Gryphonicus.
