Had a situation where a squad of 30 Plaguebearers charging some scouts to wrap and trap them. 2 of the plaguebearers would have had to go through a crater to make the charge however the charge roll was high enough that those 2 models didn't need to move to complete the charge.

If the nurgle player elected to move only models that didn't need to cross the crater and could do so while still maintaining coherency with models that didn't move in the same unit, does the charge still have the 2" move penalty for crossing a crater?

CRATERS
Models are slowed when charging across craters. If, when a unit charges, one or more of its models move across a crater, you must subtract 2" from the unit’s charge distance.

If no models move across a crater there is no -2 to charge penalty. Now you could argue that this rule is useless when you move onto/into a crater
