I've asked this a few places and still can't find a straight answer.
Does the Voice of Lorgar warlord trait (+3 inch to aura abilities) increase the range of spells with aura ranges (e.g. Cursed earth, daemons within 6")?
Thanks~

It depends on what you define "abilities" as. As is typical with GW there is no answer because they don't write their rules properly.

GW rules have explicitly called out Psychic Powers as abilities within an FAQ before though, so shouldn't be any ambiguity there now.

In GWs eyes everything is an ability.

Do you know of a specific source where this is addressed? I've been looking around for a while and would love another piece of the puzzle haha

They've never explicitly defined "abilities" (I wish they would do a glossary...), but there is an FAQ that uses the phrase "psychic powers and other abilities".
I don't recall off the top of my head where it was, but I'll have a dig for it.

How about reading the core rules, the psychic phase ?
1. Choose Psyker and Power
Some models are noted as being a
Psyker on their datasheet. Psykers can
manifest their otherworldly abilities and
attempt to deny enemy sorceries.

Huh. Has that always been there? Could have saved us a lot of debate in previous threads if youd spotted that before!
I mean it's clearly fluffy text, so I'm not sure how relevant it is to rules terms, but if you're happy it's the same result.
Nice one

Emphasis mine.
The underlined is fluff and not rules.

Yes, it has always been there. And its not fluff, its rules. The headline clearly says 1. Choose Psyker and Power. Its the first step to casting a psychic power.

Its not fluff. See my response above. Its part of the PSYCHIC SEQUENCE, which is rules.
PSYCHIC SEQUENCE
1. Choose psyker and power
2. Make Psychic test
3. Enemy takes Deny the
Witch test
4. Resolve psychic power

Except it is fluff. The whole of that sentence is "Psykers can manifest their otherworldly abilities and attempt to deny enemy sorceries." Which does not mean anything in the rules. The very next sentence gives you the clue to where the actual rules are found, when it says " The powers a psyker knows, and the number of powers they can attempt to manifest or deny each Psychic phase, are detailed on their datasheet." So the sentence about manifesting their otherworldly abilities and attempt to deny enemy sorceries is literally a fluff sentence as it does not detail how to do that.

Part of the big problem with interpreting GW rules is they mix fluffy terminology in with the rules sometimes. Bit of a pain, but you really can't say that sentence isn't somewhat fluffy.

I agree with DeathReaper. There is no way that sentence was ever intended as a rules definition.

Counterpoint-even if that sentence is fluff, that doesn't mean Psychic Powers are NOT abilities.
Lack of proof is not the same as proving a negative.

Absolutely. Psychic Powers definitely are abilities in fact.
I found one such citation that proves the intention of GW: the rules text of the Vox Espiritum relic. Which refers to "psychic powers...that are aura abilities". There are other such instances.
