When copying something from other sites that include smiley/emoticons etc like the ones on this facebook post (or elsewhere)

Dakka will often display the full text initially, but when you go back and look at the post again everything after and including the first smiley/emoticon has vanished

not a major issue now I've figured out what's going on as I can just them out, but it would be more convenient not to have to do so (and it's very disconcerting until you do figure out what the problem is since big chunks of a post just vanish)

Quick test for myself:
