Short answer, probably yes...

I do think the list is an interesting idea, I'm just not sure if it is really gaining much from the GSC compared to just running it as pure guard. You don't really need more S9 shots, you need stuff to blend elite infantry and hordes.

You might want to consider dropping the Alphus, Sanctus, Kelermorph, and Mining Lasers for a squad of 8x Aberrants with Picks and an Iconward to go with your Abominant. This gives you a fairly tough brick that throws an alarming number of attacks when paired with your existing Abominant and Bladed Cog's Overthrow the Oppressors. With one squad, you can also make good use out of the Monstrous Vigor stratagem for a 4+ FNP that rerolls 1's when the Iconward is around.

This list feels fragile to me. Its got come all takers (the opposite of take all comers) meaning that a TAC list firing at it can send antitank at the 4 tank, antihorde at the horde part, and chew both up optimally from a fire allocation perspective without any intervention by nasty invuln shields.

Edit. Fragile only in current meta / compteitive play, in regular fun games this would be pretty neat.

Both of you are right. I gues a little context is in order. The abdominant warlord is legend in the play group. I usually run abberants and all that fun punchy jazz. THis list is mostly designed to push out of my comfort zone and trick my allied into thinking im playing a GSC lsit when it is in fact just a mediocre guard list.

The GSC portion is build around the hero onions. Essentially, I position the neophytes in a daisy chain to the kellermorph and jackal alphus to get the re roll 1s and +1 to hit. The bladed cog negates the -1 to hit for entering the battlefield with a heavy weapon. So those deep striking lascannons are hitting on 3s re re-rolling 1s pretending to be space marines.

I am all about overthrow the oppressors OTTO is my jam. But this list about forcing the opponent to prepare for deep striking whilst striking them deep from across the field...with lascannons.
