I am playing a firendly escalation league with both beginner and veterans co-workers, adding points every 2 weeks.
The first matches at 500 points are going to start this week, but I have to plan the 750 list to get the models ready and painted.
I am not exacly sure about the rules to escalate the list (we are going to have a meeting with all the rules on monday), but I though about 2 ideas, depending of how flexible the rules are on keeping all units or most units from list to list.

Idea 1
HQ
Captain on Bike, combi-melta, power fist, "The Imperium's Sword" (Trait)
Primaris Liutenant with master crafted auto bolt rifle

TROOPS
Intercessors x5, Granade launcher
Scouts x6, Heavy bolter, sargent storm bolter
Scouts x6, Heavy bolter, sargent storm bolter

ELITE
Venerable dreadnought, twin lass cannon, and Missile launcher
Aggressor squad, Honoured Sarged, master crafted (relic) auto boltstom gauntlets

FAST ATTACK
Bike squad x3, chainswords x3, storm bolter on sargent

Same idea as before, just needing to get ready 4 models, (3 aggressors and one lieutenant).
1 more scout in each squad, boosted dradnoguth, and aggressors cheese with sargent shooting 12 shots (because tactical doctrine) ultramarines, reroll 1 to hit and wound (because HQ areas), damage 2, AP-1 (because tactical doctrine), + granade launcher 2D6... + the other 2 aggressors but with damage 1.

I we are allowed to take out some units, I have have the his other idea:

HQ

HEAVY

Eliminators x3

The differences are: Take out the dreadnought, no extra scouts, but added another squad of bikes and a squad of eliminators.
The idea behind that is to negate the full potential any Anti-tank, high damage or strength weapons of the opponents, getting some more melta, bolters and mobility with the bikes (swords are there to fill remaining 8 points), and using the eliminators mostly to take out characters, but also for their flexibility. I have sniper scouts, but the comparison is almost shameful.
This list requires quite more work since I would need to paint another squad of bikes, the aggressors, the lieutenant, and get the eliminators that I do not currently own.

I would like to know what you think of this those 2 scketches, and if you got any tips or alternatives.

That's a damn pretty army.

Suggestion: Take a look at Scout Bikes.

Cons:
3+ save -> 4+ save

Pros:
M14 -> M16
Free Astares Shotgun on every model
Bolt Pistol and Combat Knife instead of having to choose between pistol and Chainsword
Sergeant has all the same weapon upgrades and doesn't have to give up his shotgun
Access to the Cluster Mines strat

They're the same point cost. F---ing crazy.

It is definitely an interesting alternative, and I would not change the models I am using, + same points, so is practical to apply.

So far my bikes have been soaking damage and getting over 8 inches charges, thus the pros of the scouts are not as interesting as they could be.
In my ganes so far their role has been beeing an awesome shield for my captain, decent anti-infantry firepower at medium range with an easy line of sight manipulation, and forcing the enemy to shoot at them with medium to heavy weapons as they move really fast to their frontlines, not due to the close combat of the bikes, but of the captain, which has been destroying everything he has looked at in a single charge.

The biker Sargent would be using combi-melta or a storm bolter, which is almost always preferable to a shotgun. If I am using the combi-melta, I would probably rush head first into a tank-like target, and fo that I think the +3 armor is better than extra 2 inch movement. The stratagem does not sound to me like a great asset, at least to the games I am playing right now. Falling back and dealing 1D3 mortal wounds means that I need to survive a combat phase with only 6 wounds at +4, and that is the unit arrives untouched to combat, which in my games so far has not been the case.
The shotgun would only be usable at charge distance most of the time, and the +4 on the armour makes quite a difference when beeing a damage sponge.
I will try them out, maybe they the extra momenet and the shotguns give me a slight edge in certain situations.

The shotgun means they go from 4 shots on a normal move to 6 shots on a normal move and the Sarge can fire the Shotgun in addition to his bike guns and stormbolter/combi-melta, and the unit still gets two shots per model if they have to advance.

I don't find the difference between a 4+ and a 3+ particularly significant, but your meta might be different.
