hey everyone.

I've been creeping this forum for a while.

i'm new into miniatures painting. i got into them this year as a way to relax. i currently have a bunch of Infinity Yu jin and Haqqislam mini's, and some AOS warcry stuff and the flesh eater courts start collecting box.

just looking for advice and tips on what i could do better and what i am doing the is just fine.

i mainly use citadel paints and some army paints. i do not use air brush as it intimidates me.

look forward to meeting everyone over time. cheers!

Louay

i buy a lot of my stuff from there, but don't really play anything, I've done a couple of MTG drafts there but that's it, and a painting session once when i first started. i just like to paint the mini's and I am only half interested in playing. i do play war cry with my friends though. its fast and easy. what games at BK are you referring to? 40k, AOS, Infinity, DnD, MTG?

I still paint and collect 40K stuff, but Kill-Team is all I play these days.

i almost bought kill team instead of Warcry. are the rules similar? from what i gather it's a sci-fi version of WarCry. Same kind of small fast skirmish action.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

I have no idea; no familiarity with WarCry whatsoever. Sorry.

Kill-Team is basically 40K, but less so. It's scaled down to a squad-on-squad skirmish where each mini acts individually. It's much cheaper than 40K, 'cause even if you go nuts you have a maximum roster size of 20 and you only need enough terrain for a 22'x30' board. IMO, it's far more 'fun' and engaging than 40K in its present state is.

A box of Eight Genestealers with Toxin Sacs costs $40 (plus HST, natch) and is a 100pt Kill-Team by itself. A box of Gretchin and a box of Boyz will run you $64 (plus HST) and is also a 100pt Kill-Team, plus you have enough bits to make a Warboss from the Runtherd. A single $70 Heretic Astartes box is a Kill-Team. Two Dark Angels Veteran boxes (and a few bitz) makes a 200pt Kill-Team including 2 Terminators toting Assault Cannons. Costs $78 (plus HST, bitz).

And again, even if you go super-crazy and go to Forge-World, an eleven-strong Kill-Team made from the Cadian Hostile Environment minis will only cost $101, plus shipping and whatever three pairs of Cadian legs costs on that there ebay they have now. A fifteen-strong Death Korps of Krieg Kill-Team can be done for $150...

And so on and so forth.
