Borne of fury i carve my way,
Worthy blood reveals my path,
Always forward, never back,

Blood for the blood god,
Skulls for the skull throne
All hail Khorne!
(Excuse the totally relevant and atmospheric music )

Hope you guys enjoy! still a WIP, but I was tired of painting and keen to share.

Nice. I always like it when people throw some electronic lights onto models. I have the capability to do it myself, but have never done so. What's that you have regulating the light on the pcb?

Thanks!

I was mostly being lazy with the electronics, I intend to build a proper board that fits under the base, at current its an ATTiny45 mounted in a USB bootloader, with an extension USB cord plugged into my PS4; hence the background music of my fiancee watching TV.

That's a bit complex for me... Transistors, thyristors and capacitors are about the extent of my knowledge.. But I guess you wouldn't be able to get that slow flicker using those components.

I thought about building analogue circuits, would be cheaper overall, but harder to make effects. So what i have here is effectively a stripped down Arduino. Its an IC from the same family (arduinos usually on something like an ATMega for the extra I/O), except usually the arduino comes with another chip built into the board that writes the code onto it, so I am using a USB bootloader that is doing that for me, allowing me to program the ATTiny without having all that circuitry permanent.

Yeah see arduinos are way above my skill level! Haha. I could probably learn to use those sort of things, but I learnt most of my electronics from a weeks course on IED circuitry. The instructor did show us some arduino programming on the last day (a clever little programme that would arm the device in whatever state the circuit was left in, broken or unbroken, then detonate it when the state changed. It blew my mind, pardon the pun.

Honestly, you'd learn fast, all of that setup is literally 1 website and a general understanding of electronic basics.

But IED miniatures..... now theres a thought Imagine, when you wound their killteam model he goes kapooooof!
I have made a whole load of other bases with LEDs, if i get time il post some of the others, this is just the only one with a model on it at the moment.

You can actually make a flashing LED circuit using transistors, capacitors and resistors, although it's a little complex if you don't know what you're doing. Alternatively, you can buy flashing LEDs that will flash automatically without having to build a fancy circuit around them (still put a resistor in front of it).

Yeah I could do flashing, but not that slow flicker this one has.
