So I'm tired of using my "acquired" rules for my DKoK, which book do I need to buy that has their rules in it from FW?

Thanks! Is there anything else book wise that benefits them? Any stratagems and such?

I honestly don't know, sorry. I don't actually play or collect DKoK, but one of the Factions I do collect happens to also be in IA - I:FotAM.

I would guess that you'll probably also need Codex: Astra Miltiarum for the vehicle Datasheets.

No stratagems. Just some orders, the army ability, and weapons lists aside from datasheets.

Unfortunately, not really. They have a unique doctrine (essentially they ignore morale in the shooting phase and are WS3+), but are otherwise largely just copies of normal codex units with higher points costs and fewer options and upgrades and unit selections, the primary exception being Death Riders (as Rough Riders have basically been squatted).

Stuff like basic infantry squads costing more with no heavy weapons options, Grenadiers costing 9ppm and having no Deep Strike and only 2 special weapons regardless of size (Stormtroopers/Scions can take 2 per 5) and no Hotshot volleyguns, etc

This has largely always been the case for the DKoK through the editions (and on top of cost is the primary reason such armies are rare), but they're particularly abandoned and poorly supported in 8E. FW stuff in general for 40k is now all handled by the main studio and they arent putting any effort into updating or maintaining those lines beyond getting that index out 3 years ago.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

I've been emailing the rules team and the're just not responding on the issue of DKoK.

Really, I do think it's really shoddy of them. I'm kind of hoping that PA throws them a bone in some form, but seeing how they've been excluded from half of the vigilus detachments just through pure oversight of keywords, it may be a forlorn hope.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
In terms of playing them, they do a handful of things well:

Deathriders are now comparatively glassy, but still hit hard.

Engineers are legit if you can get them rerolls. They're one of the few units who are okay with the new valkyrie disembark rules.

Grenadiers in Centaurs have some tactical value.

And the grenadier strat in the AM codex is great on all krieg infantry, due to everyone carrying krak grenades, and particularly good on engineers, as they carry poison/melta/demo.

You need bullgryn to have a hope in hell, btw.

Forgeworld indexes are pretty much in the "Legends" category at this point. I wouldn't expect any updates from FW unless those models (DKOK, R&H etc) get moved over to GW for a proper release.

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

If it will help, my self and a couple of friends will send out a couple of nice emails to them. I really do think that volume is how you reach them.

So I have a question.

Macharius Tanks clearly have resin DkoK crew, and Imperial Bombards are listed when you select DkoK.

But the battlescribe file doesn't have these units listed. What gives?

Could be a file problem. Do you have 7th edition on battlescribe? Imperial Guard wouldn't even show up on mine until I deleted 7th after the ca update.

I will check, but I just downloaded the system the other day. Nope, it's the 8th edition file. But it doesn't even have the DkoK chapter trait.

No, do you have 7th as well? I had to delete all of 7th in order to get some files. Something about not being able to have two files with the same name.

Thanks! I had completely forgotten about the LoW Detachments, I kept looking for them in my brigade.

You're welcome. Also your imperial bombards should be listed as "colossus" bombards. Here's hoping the upcoming new rules for fw armies gives dkok some good stuff.

Praise the Emprah, GW have announced a complete overhaul of FW units, with new books being released later in the year. Krieg will no doubt feature in them, as one of FW's perennial favourites. That turned out to be the best possible reason for them not answering emails on the subject of rule updates

From where is that information? Edit : found it!

Supposedly to full amry support, e.g. stratagems, rules, price, mini formations? detachments, etc.

Hopefully they bring back the more unique trait system for DKoK and R&H.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.
