I am down to the second to last game in a narrative campaign. My side his "badguys" are a custom army of spacemarines that in this upcoming battle will be deploying Infinite wolves against his infinite troops.he is attacking a medical/cloning facility to retrieve one of his men that was lost and thought dead in a strike force against one of the bad guys ships. Anyways.

I am thinking of building dog chutes from which the wolves will be deployable something for him to hunt down and blow up. Like hatches that open to wolf sized tunnels that lead wolf filled holding pens. Anyways rambling any ideas on what to place on the battlefield as dog deploying points? I was about to make basic hatches [laundryshoot hatches]. But I am open for direction or examples. I think I could use them.

Also i plan on losing these last battles because it is an elaborate way of giving him his Christmas present of a costume charcter I spent the last 4 months working on. Last 6 months where he has played his army to game with have been leading to this.

Hi, thought about trap doors? Searcher puts foot on trap door, falls into pit, pit leads to wolf pen, wolves emerge?
Trap doors would be disguised, so a random dice roll wold serve to define when and where they were ‘tripped’.

On a more whimsical note, a square packing case with ‘ACME’ stencilled on it would do the trick if you felt like doing modelling :-)

If you need to make hinges for your trap doors, the stems of Q-Tips are hollow; you can cut 3 pieces, about 2 mm each, run a paperclip through the center of all 3. Hit the outsides of the hinge with glue to hold the paperclip in place.

The two outside sections of the hinge can be glued to the door frame, while the inner section is glued to the door. The center section should be able to rotate around the paper clip, allowing the trap door to swing open. This is how I plan to hinge the trapdoors on some of the tiles in my wych cult arena.

Another option is the sliding door/ wafer method. If you use a corrugated cardboard core for your walls with a layer of cereal box cardboard on either side, you can leave a gap in the corrugated cardboard and the outer layers keep the wall intact. Cut a door shaped hole in the outer layers. Then you can slide a piece of cardboard into the gap to cover the door shaped hole, thereby closing the door. To make it look good, you'll want to add relief texture to your door insert and build up a frame around the door hole.

This is less finicky than making hinges, but it only works if your door is set into a wall.

I mean, if your doing trapdoors then the ones that came with the old mines of moria starter set might be ideal.

The only thing better than a good nights sleep, is two good nights sleep.
