Planning to get back into 40k after a 1,5 year hiatus (hence not having played stuff like Vigilus and PA), I want to recomission my Imperial Guard. Here's my try at a 1500 shooty list.

Clocking in at exactly 1500 points.
Basic idea is that Pask together with his LR buddy find cover somewhere and shoot with overheating Plasma at enemy armor and/or heavy infantry with POUND THEM TO DUST. Same goes for the 3 Sentinels who get deployed on three different points of the DZ. Basilisks park somewhere out of LOV and shoot at the enemy heavy armor with OVERLAPPING FIELDS OF FIRE and POUNDING BARRAGE. The six infantry squads screen the tanks and arty and shoot with overheating Plasma every turn. 1 C. Commander per 2 squads, orders FRFSRF (horde enemies) or Take Aim (MEQ enemies). Enginseer stays with Pask and his buddy for field repairs. The only somewhat mobile element are the 6 Bullgryns, accompanied by the Astropath who spams Psychic Barrier on them. They either stay back in reserve if the enemy close combat/deepstrike troops should get too close or advance forwards (if the enemy is shooty/static himself).
Thoughts and suggestions?

If your artillery only consists of 3 basilisks you may want to go for the Emperors Fist tank company instead. Maybe drop a plasma cannon or 2 from the sentinels so you can upgrade your Russ to a tank commander and give him the relic battlecannon instead of the executioner plasma cannon. I would also give that tank commander the reroll overwatch WT and keep him within 6" of pask.

My sadness for this list is how fragile my gaurd screens have gotten in the space marines from hell meta.
but .. that being aside, I like your list a lot, its got excellent cp for its weight and can reasonably fire pounding barrages several times, you have pask to lead off the firing so that other units can interlock field of fire, its got solid elements.
Consider swap a basilisk for a wyvern though, some armies you want sheer weight of dice rolls to kill tough, invulnerable, but hordelike infantry.
also, my luck with dice rolling is so bad, I would lose half those plasma every round despite any rerolls on 1 that they might make.

I can't quite wrap my head around the Emperor's Fist doctrine. The stratagems seem designed around getting your LR into close combat? Maybe I'm reading them wrong, but they seem better suited for mobile LR lists, like Tallarn/Catachan Demolishers and the like.
Tank Commander costs 35 points more than a standard LR with the same weapons. Considering Pask already has 2 orders (one for himself and one for his buddy), it seems like a waste.

By horde I guess you mean Nids, Orks, Daemons and mirrmormatch IG. Against MEQ armies I suppose it's besser to have 3 Basilisks rather than 2 and a Wyvern?

I agree. I only said consider -- not definitely take-- for exactly the reason you mention. A 8 month period ago, the wyvern was a no brain addition to the list, now, its a maybe thing, local meta dependant. My air mobile list dropped its wyvern for an extra basilisk not that long ago, and you have 6 squads of lasguns for the antihorde purpose (with bolters and plasma, even).
Also, I am used to setting up 2000 pointers, so swinging 1 arty more is always sweet, if only to slow an enemy and shut off overwatch.

The emperors fist detachment gives access to a warlord trait that allows russes within 6" to reroll overwatch hit rolls. This combined with defensive gunners and/or vengeance for cadia can make for a strong melee deterrent. It also gives access to the flat 3 damage battlecannon. These are the only 2 reasons I suggest the detachment. It's more of a stop gap solution for not having more infantry screens.
The only useful things the artillery detachment gives access to is doubleshooting a single basilisk and ignoring cover for a single basilisk.
As for Pask wasting an order, it's really not a big waste because he's likely to get singled out and killed anyways, leaving you with a regular russ with no one to order them. In addition, that 35 pts is still buying you 1 better BS for the other russ.
