I am still fairly new at this, but I am theory-crafting a fluff-before-reason list based on the Order of the Ashen Shrine. The lore says that they like flamers so I wanted to see if I could take this to the extreme. Unfortunately I have to pretend that they are their parent order in order to get the relic.

I had to drop a couple of combi-flamers in order to meet the points limit, although that did free up enough for me to hand out superfluous hand flamers to almost everyone.

Can anyone see a way to cram even more flamers in there anywhere? One thing I am not happy with is the canonesses, but none of the HQ choices have any choices of flame weaponry at all (except Junith, who is the wrong order). They have braziers and the relic seems fun but they add almost nothing else.

Obviously this list is not built with competitive play or common sense in mind, but if anyone can see any small tweaks that might make it more fun then please share

ohohoh! an inquisitor can join this army and bring a whole different kind of flamer, there is one that only inquisitors can carry

Its also pretty fluffy, an inquisitor is a natural ally with sisters.

Or you could drop a couple of combiflamers so as to upgrade one or two of them to combimeltas, allowing a couple of your units to holy trinity fire, giving the "normal" flamers a lot more flame oomph against middleweight targets.

Or you could get some of those drop from the sky ladies that pack 2 flamer pistols each, and can fire them both at longer range on descent (burning descent) .. One flamer good.

Some great ideas there

I had to look over the rules for inquisitors and they don't count as an HQ choice, meaning that I would still need two lame canonesses to make a batallion. However, I have also concluded that inquisitors are awesome. I can take an Ordo Malleus model, give her an incinerator and then use a command point to give her a relic and a warlord trait for extra psychic power. Having some psychic wouldn't hurt, plus I can use the Greyfax model as a base to keep my army all female

She would cost 75 points, so I can ditch an immolator then give all the squad leaders combi-flamers (and no hand flamers) to leave myself with 25 points to spare.

I then looked through my elite choices and found the Blackstone Fortress character Pious Vorne. She is female. With a giant heavy flamer. And costs 25 points. It was meant to be! Technically she breaks my order convictions, but this is most likely an oversight and this army would only be used for friendly games anyway so I doubt it would matter.

I did look at Seraphim with their dual hand flamers, but only 2/5 of the unit can be equipped that way so I wasn't too tempted. They would probably be a good choice if I was to upgrade to a brigade detachment in a 2000 point list, along with some Celestians for elite choices.

Two things the inquisitors can do with their warlord trait seem to be (as buff for an army) either psyker upgrade or cp farm. Both would help you a lot, I think.

OTOH, if you are worried about not having enough flamerchicks, remember Lady Celestine has a flaming sword, that both melee burns AND shoots. Might cause some reworking of points to get her but she would edge your army's shields towrads usefullness, especially if you put a canonnes with the +1++ trait next to her, your whole "center charge" could end up with a 4++ AND flames.

One of the orders lets you ignore ap-1 as well. While not the toughest sistes ever created, 4++ and ignore ap-1 combined are plenty durable for a fluffy army.

Yeah, my order really isn't doing much for me. The Ashen Shrine like flamers and they are derived from the Sacred Rose, but I can always invent a similar minor order. Ebon Chalice have a stratagem that buffs flamers but I don't like their regular bonuses. Extra survivability is probably the way to go.

I didn't realise that Celestine's sword shot fire - I figured it was just holy energy or something. She is a cool model but costs a lot of points, plus she synergises so well with her geminae superior that it would be a shame not to take them, then it all snowballs...

Quick update on this.

I got a box each of Battle Sisters and Retributors to investigate the practicalities of actually building this ridiculous list.

The Battle Sisters box comes with 10 bodies, 1 combi-flamer, 3 flamers and 1 heavy flamer.

The Retributors box comes with 5 bodies, 1 combi-flamer, 0 flamers and 2 ( ) heavy flamers

Starting from nothing, I would need 2 boxes of sisters and 3 boxes of retributors to fill out my 4 x five-woman troop squads and my 3 x five-woman heavy squads. This would get me 5 combi-flamers, 6 flamers and 8 heavy flamers. The same squads in my army list would require 7 combi-flamers, 4 flamers and 16 heavy flamers, leaving me short by 2 combi-flamers and 8 heavy flamers. I would need an extra 4 retributor boxes at £32.50 each to get enough weapons

Pretty sure you missed flamer. Albeit flamers are so bad weapon didn't check carefully but in basic sister box you get 4 storm bolters and 4 melta guns so why not 4 flamers as well?

Albeit not really helping in your case. But I'm sure you can get some swaps for multi meltas. Those are much looked for
