It will affect Line of Sight.

Both are legitimate build options. This isnt like Inceptors where it's a grey area. Building them without stands is explicitly a build option.

The assembly instructions cover both options so they are equally valid. If your model is higher up then it will make it slightly better at 'seeing' targets due to how the line of sight rules work. However, it also makes it easier for enemies to draw a line of sight to shoot it. In most cases it will make no difference so I would just go with whatever you think looks better.

It makes virtually no difference, having built mine on flight stands their feet are practically touching the base anyway, they might be a few millimetres taller but thats it.
