I've put together a new box of Tzaangors and afterwards noticed some weird loss of detail on the knee/leg armour. I've got a couple of videos here to show what I mean:

The loss of detail on the other side of the knee/leg is just weird. I emailed GW who told me that's a spot for weapons or accessories. There are no spare weapons or accessories in the kit though. There's a few other legs/knees in the kit with a similar problem but not to this extent.

Is this what all the Tzaangors are like? I can't find any photos online showing that angle to see.

It's more of an artifact of the casting process - I imagine sharper detail would prevent it from popping out of the mold properly. It's not terribly noticeable once painted. This sort of thing was pretty common in the previous generation of GW minis, like the original Fire Warriors plastic sprue.

That's really annoying. I'm glad it won't be too obvious when painted however being from 2016 (date stamped on the sprue) I would have expected less mistakes.

Also annoying how GW tried to pass it off as a feature.

Thanks for the help though. I appreciate it.

No problem. GW still does this in places, but it's usually something like the crotch of a Primaris Marine behind the buttflap. It's not impossible to eliminate, but it's the sort of thing that has led GW's minis to be more and more pieces over time. I noticed it when I built my Tzaangors too.
