So got another monpoc game in, using the same starter monsters and trying out a few new units .

had the table full this time since i got my order in for more geocraper terrain. ended up destroying 9 buildings and put both monsters down to their last few wounds.

Defenders won by a slim margin. and lots of fun had by all, who knew wrecking the city could be so fun?

after

Very cool. Those ships look familiar; where are they from?

I don't really recognise 40K vehicles on sight, so I didn't realise those were 40K models. I like those interceptors, I might have to give Vanguard Miniatures a browse.

I agree. In fact I have a small pile of unassembled Monsterpocalypse stuff accumulating despite the fact that I have yet to actually play the game...

yeah they have great stuff. the epic scale stuff is in the 6-8mm section and they have micro scale versions of FW units as well as 30K stuff. alongside onslought miniatures they cover just about every 40K faction in the game. in 6mm

Uuuhhh you realise you cannot get the mat, rule book or tokens without the starter set right? also a second set of dice for another player, not to mention all the resin buildings i bought, i just prefer to use them with 6mm scale games like battletech or epic scale 40K

the geocrapers terrain is 1.2500 scale making it feel far more epic for giant monster fights. it also comes exactly the right base size, pre-painted, and modular.

additionally as a longtime japanophile i much prefer to have the original "monsters" the game was based on. hense using a gunbuster revoltech toy. (the pacific rim kaiju just looked cool) and it was the right size.

as for the tanks and such i don't need to buy more when the stuff i have is scalable.

Oh, I didn't realize that Privateer Press had released all those cards you have printed out for free. I thought you had simply pirated them off the internet and were shamelessly bragging about enjoying a company's game without fully paying for it. My bad.

Copyright infringement is somewhat rampant in the industry, with things such as pdfs of rules and chinacast. Even Monsterpocalypse itself is highly derivative, if not infringing.

The music industry had a major copyright problem. Then they began to release products digitally, so that people could actually buy them, rather than copy them. Lo and behold, people actually bought the stuff. Infringment has been greatly reduced.

In the case of Monsterpocalypse it does not help that some of the physical products are not even available, as they are sold out.

I am happy to see that someone is enjoying the game, and certainly did make some effort to purchase some of the products.
