So the post title really covers the question, im working on converting up a chaos sorcerer on bike for my emperor's children. I know the emperor's children were the only (first?) chapter given permission to wear the emperor's aquila, and i also read somewhere that they still use the "for the emperor" warcry just to be snarky d-bags. So while looking through bits, i found an aquila i was debating sticking on the front. Showed my buddy a pic, and he said to take it off its disrespectful (hes a dark angel player), which kinda makes me want to leave it more, but would they actually have it on there? or not really?

Some would remove them, some would deface them, and some would definitely leave them just as they are.

From a character standpoint, an Emperor's Children marine that leaves it pristine is probably an uber-instigator: such a display is going to hork off not only loyalists angry about a traitor using their icon, but also his own people who are going to be mad he's displaying the Emperor's heraldry.

So go for it!

Leave it on and paint it neon pink. I think the fact that the emperors children have kept their name tells you everything you need to know.

Absolutely possible! Adds insult to the loyalists, and is completely in character with the post-heresy EC.

One of the earliest lines about them in "Slaves to Darkness" was that "(their modern leaders) take pleasure (unsurprisingly) in reaffirming the chapter's (sic) name", so entirely possible. Though no doubt some 'aesthetic improvements' (ahem) are equally likely.

Definitely keep it. They specifically still wear it after the heresy. And you give your DA friend a chance to get pissed off in-character

on the forum. Obviously

They would as a sign of mockery, yes.
Maybe carve a gash into to give the impression that it was looted from some poor imperial.

I don't know if it would look dumb, but they could invert the aquilla.
