My friend and I are playing a game this weekend, and he is bringing his Grey Knights since they are now new* and improved. Before the game I was hoping to gain some clarity on Tide of Shadows.

My question is, do weapons that ignore cover ignore the armor bonus Grey Knights get from that tide if they are not in cover?

*Maybe not "new" but definitely improved.

If it ignores cover, it ignores Tide of Shadows ability to grant the cover bonus. If it requires the unit to be "on" cover (such as Deathwatch Dragonfire Bolts) it isn't activated by Tide of Shadows.

One thing to note is that even if you have an ability to ignore cover, they still get their -1 to hit in terrain.
