White Scars Chapter and book. Can a White Scars successor chapter that is NOT running the White Scars chapter traits take the Khan on a bike as a generic HQ choice? Our group feels the data sheets in the White Scars book are White Scars only. Since the named guy is certainly only White Scars, we have assumed the Khan on bike is as well. However, there is a tiny niggling thought that it is just an added data sheet for a chapter and successor only unit to give flavor. Anyone with a clarification? I do not own any other Marine Chapter books to compare to, does the Ultramarines have data sheets for ultramarines successors?

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

From the FAQ:

Q. Can any of the datasheets in this supplement be from a
successor Chapter?
A: No. These datasheets and named characters can only
be from the White Scars Chapter.

Most if not all the special characters are locked into their listed chapter. There are some like Lias Issodon from FW that are a successor (Raptors) but can select any trait.
