Hey all

I once came across a paragraph or a piece of text in a box or something that was a guideline for setting up terrain for 40k. It basically stated "Divide your playing area into quarters. Fill one quarter with terrain".

Trouble is I can't recall where I read it, and I've checked the current 40k brb but can't find it...

Anyone here any ideas on which rulebook that might be in?

Thanks in advance.

I think that may have been in the 5th or 6th edition rulebooks. It's not a rule you need to follow, and 8th edition's terrain rules are flimsy enough that following it may not necessarily lead to the experience you want. For example, having lots of forests doesn't mean too much, since something barely visible but not actually on the forest still gets no cover, while something touching the forest but totally visible does get cover.
