Recently, I've taken to collecting classic minis from the early 40k era (around RT to 2nd ed currently) and stumbled across one of the Mark Copplestone Techmarines. Considering it seemed decently priced, I wanted to pick it up, but I've seen conflicting reports of whether they came with backpacks or not, and if they were plastic or metal?
I wasn't around when RT was a thing, and I was hoping for some advice on the early models, before I go spending absurd amounts of money on the minis.
Thank you!

Does SoLegends show the model?
Is the backpack mentioned?

I'm not sure, but it might help.

They came later one with the Mk6 plastic backpack.
They may have been in the wave of releases to get the original rogue trader metal backpack. There were various designs and searching for that should show you. their limited edition imperial space marine model had a version of the backpack as part of that kit.

I think the Techmarine models all came with metal backpacks originally, but I never owned any personally (I was exclusively an Ork player back then).

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry. |

I have 410502, 410503 and 410507 on that SoL list, 2 of which have backpacks on, both of which are quite definitely grey plastic.
Dunno when I bought them, but definitely before 1995.

I did have a look there initially, yeah. Only issue is that the one I’m looking at specifically (410501) is shown both with a backpack, and painted without one, hence the confusion

You wouldn’t remember if they came packaged with a backpack at all?

It wouldn't be one of these ones, would it?

Have Tech Marines with metal and plastic back packs, but none were bought new. Just make sure they are the older version of the plastic one and all will be good.

They would have come with the backpacks. At the time, any spare backpacks I might have had were green plastic RTB01 Space Marine ones.

So from the sounds of it, they had RTB01 backpacks then. Thank you all for the advice! I'll probably just end up getting a spare RTB01 backpack to complete him.
