So I'm fighting a mate who is using Tau next weekend. I've made a list based on the Blood Angels Strike Force box with some other bits I've got on the side. This is my first time using a full blood angels force an haven't won against his tau in a very long time (only time was with Ravenwing at the start of 8th), so keen to put up a good fight!

Do you think anything could be swapped out? I have 5 more infiltrators, a redemptor, regular dred, almost every HQ other than characters.

The mission we're playing is from the Psychic Awakening Tau book, where Tau must advance and imperium defend. My list is as follows:

It sounds like a fun game! Here are a few things. Don't give Death Company just bolters. Always give them either a chainsword or a hammer. Same with power fists, it's just strictly better to give hammers or chainswords. Death company is a specialized close combat unit that needs to have those specialized weapons to be used properly.

I want the Baal predator to be good, but it just isn't. Even though I know because of the mission it could be tempting to go full castle shooting defensive mode, it's really hard to play defensively with blood angels. You would be better off with another close combat unit, like another smash captain. Especially since he probably has a lot of suits and smash captains are great at smashing those. I'm not a big fan of reivers in Blood Angels or Eliminators. I would probably try to swap them out for one of those dreadnoughts. I think Reivers might be fun in that mission though.

If you are looking as to what to buy next. I would try to get some scout squads with knives. They are the best troop choice in blood angels. I would also try and get some aggressors, which are also super good in BA.
