After almost 25 years Legions of Steel, the squad based, grid map tile miniatures game is back.

The March release is of the old 1990s miniatures with PnP rules and boards. There is a core set of Ten 35mm all metal figures (just $49 USD) plus expanded sets as well. More info and Playtester application can be found at www.rayboxgames.com

The October release is the full boxed set with all new art, new sculpts, 10 35mm miniatures and printed map tiles (32 5x5 inch), 16 doors, 100+ counters, squad control sheets, rule book, tutorial book/scenario book foam insert for storing miniatures with stretch goals including dice bag, action dice, revers side maps and more. There will also be the first expansion which fits right into the basic game box (scenario book, 7 new figures, squad control sheets, more boards and counters. There will also be a deluxe edition and additional miniatures.

I loved this game...still have about 200 models for it painted up. Mostly UNE and the Legions. Also have a ton of Black Empire and Infranites on the project shelf.

It will be good to be able to shore up the numbers.

Wow... That’s a serious blast from the past. I remember that when it came out. Some nice, for the time at least, models in the line. Especially when the expansions came out.

I looked over the web site...Inferno, Battles in the Abyss is also on the horizon again. Glad to see these classics have a home again, and I will definitely be there for the relaunch.

Deep Frier of Mount Doom

Wow.. I remember seeing this in the FLGS when I started tabletop gaming. I never played it myself but I hope its return scratches an itch for fans of the original. As a gamer who got his start with the old FASA STSTCS ship combat game, I welcome the return of classic games.
