Hey guys, I'm in a tough spot right now.

I just picked up some Adeptus Custodes, and I was really looking forward to painting them. Once they were built I used some non-GW primer, specifically (Tamiya TAM87042 87042 Surface Primer L Gray, 180ml Spray Can, Light Gray)

I don't know if it was too cold, but something went wrong, and the primer made uneven coats that pooled in the crevices, I decided to strip it with the standard Simple Green method, but the primer isn't coming off.. What should I do? can I use stronger chemicals like Turpentine?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me, I really appreciate it.

Don't use turps, it'll melt plastic. This video might help you: https://youtu.be/OqBjt1wKZfc

Yeah, I did some experiments with different chemicals, everything melted.

the only actual solution I found was just scrub with a toothbrush

Castrol Super Clean is way stronger than Simple Green. Still takes a while but it works better.

Could try Isopropyl Alcohol?

I wonder if hydrogen peroxide would work and bubble it off without harming the plastic?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

This. Soak it in 90% or higher Iso and then go at it with a scrub brush after a day or 2. Iso will leave behind no residue and will not damage the plastic in any way.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Denatured alcohol/ methylated spirit will strip plastic very well, scrub with a toothbrush and it's all good

Castrol Superclean or Purple Power are the correct answers. Won’t melt plastic and kills nearly every paint I have ever encountered.

I use LA Totally Awesome (yellow) from the dollar store (Dollar General?). Works great on paint. Doesn't always take off the primer, but if its pooling like you say, that should get removed.

I've had success w/ Simple Green for stripping plastic. Doesn't work all the time, but when it does the mini's look great. 50/50 I'd say.
