Im relatively new to Warhammer 40,000 but find the hobby fascinating. One question I have though is what are command points used for, and how do I acquire them? Sorry for my noob ness

Command Points are used to "power" the various Stratagems you have access to. Check your Faction's Codex for more information on these. You gain them by building legal Detachments, such as a Battalion or Vanguard.

Command Points are a pool of points gained by fielding a Battle-Forged Army (BRB Pages 240-245) that allows you to utilize Stratagems. There are 4 Generic Stratagems and all codexes allow you to gain access to additional faction specific Stratagems. Additionally, most narrative scenarios include additional Stratagems as do the Maelstrom of War matched play scenarios.
