So, before the COVID-19 pandemic hit North America, I was engaged in an escalation league at my LGS with my Sisters of Battle. Now that I have the time to do so, I'm going to try writing up some batreps from that league, starting with my recap of week 1.

As always, criticism, feedback and commentary are more than welcome.

Great write-ups, really enjoyed these small games and how much your writing adds to them

Excellent battle report. Love the narrative feel you give these. That is a tough mission to have basically wiped your opponent, and still lose. Suspecting get troops off the board edge was the key VP.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Nice batreps, thanks for posting these!

I love Sisters but havent yet tried out Mortifiers, I'm painting 9 total for my 2000 point list.
How have they performed for you and do you think they are points efficient and an effective performer? For the 504 points I'm spending on 9 of them I could have taken 3x 10-model squads of BA Zephyrim (510 points), it's a comparison I keep making and wondering which of these two are tops.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, I had to get 25% of my army's power level off the board...and in the end, I didn't do that (I came very close, though).

Well, I've been using 2 individual Mortifiers a lot. I really like the firepower and mobility they add, and their close combat punch is pretty good as well. With their mobility and small footprint, I can use them to do things like, say, soak up overwatch, block enemy units from moving/charging, or even just have them hang back to deny possible landing zones for deep striking enemies, and with Holy Rage, their threat range becomes extended significantly.

That being said, they are very fragile and die pretty easily to firepower/massed attacks. In my games, I was using two cheap throwaway units, so I can't say how 3x3 of them will work, and having not had the pleasure of using Zephyrim yet, I can't comment on them either.

They were a highly entertaining read ... well-written, laid out and easy to follow. I found the post-game analyses to be really helpful.

It did make me smile when you referred to your opponent's Canoness as Mother Theresa during the batrep - that's quite an image!

Thanks for taking the time to make and share these.
