Quarantine painting continues.

I got some mini-walkers from PuppetsWar a while ago, and finally got around to painting them. I decided they would work well to represent heavy weapons teams for my traitor guardsmen, who wear Iron Warriors colors.

Here they are helping out during a public health crisis (2020, colorized):

Some notes on the build:

The bodies of the bots are pre-drilled for magnets - one on each side, one on top. I decided to fill in the hole on top because I liked it better the way you see it here.

All the weapons are magnetized. I like dual flamers, dual bolters, etc because they look cool, but can also have the sensor thing on the side for only a single weapon, which is more 40K accurate.

The rocket launchers are not actually from Puppetswar: I designed them myself in Rhino and 3D printed them on my Photon. They are very similar to the ones they sell - I wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel - but I wanted to add a chaos arrow, a notch in the front armor, and also add a heatsink on the back. I think the ones they make would have just looked a little too plain.

I do rather like those heavy weapons. Thanks for pointing them out. The next time I order from Puppets War I'll pick some up. Also great work on those traitor guard. They look quite excellent.

Currently working on a 30k militia army and these would be ideal HWTs for them.
Amazing looking models, well worth the cost I’d say.

You know, I am realizing...not really, no. It's one of those armies I never finished, and I've done bits here and there over the years. I only really use them as functionally scenery in photos of other stuff I have finished. Basically, mooks.

In reality I probably have enough just plain traitor guard now to do at least a basic army pic.

In the meantime, here is a fairly old photo of them with their "parent" army, Iron Warriors:



Unpictured stuff I have finished since then: the 3x HWT robots, 2x Thanatars, 2x Decimators, a Knight, a Khorne Daemon Prince, an Avenger Strike Fighter, and a Puppets War Big Momma artillery piece... so a fair chunk.

I might do some photos this upcoming weekend.

Nope, perfectly explains anything, those tires looked worse then the Decimator shouloderpads i had to fix up from FW.....
