Before lockdown I got my first proper game of kill team as a friend wanted me to get into it.
For the game I used his orks as I hadn’t planned on having a match.

During the match though a grot proceeded to finish off the enemy leader (IF marine)
After a good chuckle about it my friend said I could keep it.

This was just a regular grot from the set, unpainted and far too normal looking for what he pulled off.
I decided I’d honour him a bit by making him stand out from regular grots with some minor conversion work.

I usually aim to paint to tabletop standard but spent a little more time on the little guy.
This may be the start of a grot kill team.

Pics aren’t the best but working with what I have.
Never really spent much time converting small models either, so this was good fun.

Lovely conversion and paintjob. Made me laugh that the IF helmet is half the size of the grot

He's a hero! I love his cape. And I say yes, go all in on a grot team

realism is a lie

Well done, that's a lovely little git! Love the story behind him too. Thanks for sharing, hope to see the rest of the team.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Thanks guys.
After having fun painting him up I’ve spent the day so far chopping pieces apart and tinkering.

After some google research I’ve discovered that it’s not possible to make a pure grot killteam (hits the max model count and remains short on points)

However, nothing stops me from using other model types with a bit of converting, so looks like the killteam will begin now
