Ok so know the book isnt out yet but i managed to get an idea / read a bit of the new rules.

As i understand it you'll always get the Subkultur benefit if you make that unit a specialist mob but the same restrictions on clan cultures apply.

So:

I have a battalion:

Deathskills big mek
Deathskulls big mek
10 grots - grot mobs (specialist)
10 grots - grot mobs (specialist)
10 grots - grot mobs (specialist)

This is not a full cheeky zoggerz battalion as not all the units are (grot mobs)
All the grot units get the 6++ and re-roll 1vs vehicles
Both meks completely loose their lucky blue gitz rules (6++, re-rolls etc)

Thats how i understand it to work?

Could you actually make the meks grot mobs, instead of deathskulls instead? if this was not the case.

The book is out.

You need to have all units from the same "specialist mob", i.e. your Meks have to have the CHEEKY ZOGGERS keyword for their <CLAN> too, otherwise the Grots won't benefit. This means the Meks won't benefit from any Kultur.

cool got it, so its more or less a straight swap and works the same as if the new subcultures were more or less new ork clans.

makes sense. guess my mek gun spear head just got better...

Pretty much, they are like the old style Marine or CSM traits, they only affect certain units within a detachment and units that aren't affected simply have no trait.

Correct, the only difference is that sub cultures are not excluding Gretchin from their effects.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
