I feel I should already know this, but what's going to be the effect of using an aerosol varnish on a clear acrylic flying base? Is it going to get fogged up or am I gonna be OK?

Under the couch

Depends on the varnish.

If it's a matte or satin varnish, it might fog it, it might just make it less shiny.
If it's a gloss varnish, it might not make any real noticeable difference, although some varnishes have a bit of a texture to them.

If its gloss it won't affect it. The others will. But surely you could just mask it off if you were worried

Experimented, turned out foggy but was consistent so it actually looks OK.

You can always use a brush to apply gloss over that and it will remove the fogging.
